One of the most frustrating things that can happen to you inHades 2is to progress further than you’ve ever reached so far and then be faced with new recipes and crafting lists that feature ingredients that you’ve never even see before. The scope of the game is massive, so it just shows you that there are challenges you haven’t even scratched yet.

This is likely to happen with Wool. While it sounds rather innocuous, you’ll probably be wondering why such a basic-sounding material is a key ingredient in some important recipes. Well, you see, Wool is guarded by a rather infamous Guardian.

Hades 2 is in Early Accessat the moment, so the details below may change over the course of development.

How To Get Wool

Wool, like Cinders and Tears, is the reward that you’ll obtain from beating a certain boss. Specifically, you must beatPolyphemus, who is the boss of theCity of Ephyra.

Ephyra is the first region that you’ll encounter when you take on the game’ssurface route, which you’ll need totake specific steps to unlock.

How To Make It Through The City Of Ephyra

Once you’vebroken the ward to the surface and dispelled the cursethat makes Melinoe die quickly up there, you’ll have tomake your way throughEphyrabefore you can face Polyphemus.

After beating two initial screens, you’ll be in the centre of the city, which has a fountain, anexit guarded by six Pylons, and nine entrances to rooms that hold rewards for you, ranging from god Boons to encounters with NPCs like Heracles and Medea.

To unlock the route to the boss, you mustenter six of these locations and destroy the spirit prisons that are present in each one. Only then will you be able to head through the centre of the city and take on Polyphemus.

Be on the lookout for extra,lit-up doorwayswhen you complete locations in Ephyra - these hold optional, short encounters that often reward you with decent Boons, such as extra Life, Magick, or Gold.
