How To Unlock The Mayor’s Secret Basement

If you pay a visit to MayorLewis’house, which isabove the bridge to the beach, you’ll find that it’s a home with only one floor. There is no sign of a staircase leading down, but he does, in fact, have asecret basement.

In order to access the basement, you’ll need to make your own path bycrafting a staircasethat can take you downstairs.

To craft astaircase, you’ll need99 pieces ofstone. Once you have your staircase, you’ll need toplace it in Lewis' bedroom.

To find the particular spot that you can lay the staircase down on, hover over the floor with the staircaseuntil the tile turns green.

When you’ve placed the staircase successfully, you’llautomaticallyhead down the steps and make it to the basement.

How To Get Through Mayor Lewis' Basement

You’ll find that the basement is full of kegs, andthey form a maze. Going through the maze will lead you to thesoutheast corner of the room, whereMayor Lewis' Lucky Purple Shortscan be found.

You’ll have to find a way to make it to the southwest corner of the room, then go through ahidden path tucked along the south edge. Once you pick up the shorts, afloating purple shorts monster will appearand will chase you.

You will take heavy damage from the purple shorts monster if it gets you. You’ll need toexit the basement to escape.
