InManor Lords, food is one of the most important resources. Your people need food to be able to continue doing various tasks and grow the community from a small settlement to a bustling large town.

While berries, meat, eggs, vegetables, and bread are some of the important food products, the rye crop is by far the best ingredient to create an unlimited food supply. You cannot plant the rye crop from the get-go in the game, and for this, you need to make some progress. This guide explains all the methods to get the rye crop and start making bread faster.

Yoursettlement will never start sowing crops on empty fields if you do not establish a farmhousebuilding. Without this, there would be no families to plow the land, sow the seeds, water, and harvest in November.

Thebiggest advantage of planting the rye cropover wheat is that itrequires very low fertility to give a higher yield. As you continue to plant barley, wheat, and flax, the overall fertility decreases, decreasing the yield year-on-year. However, if you have therye crop unlocked, youdo not have to worry enough about the annual grainyield.
