You live out your life as a farmer after being given a big piece of land from your late grandfather inStardew Valley. As a farmer, you’ll be growing all sorts of produce using seeds. This also includes various types of trees. you may plant trees that can bear fruit, or trees that can be equipped with a tapper for unique materials.
One type of seed that you can plant is theMystic Tree Seed, and this grows into a Mystic Tree. This type of seed is different, because it can only be obtained through crafting, and the recipe is unlocked by gaining Foraging Mastery.

How To Get The Mystic Tree Seed Recipe
To get a Mystic Tree Seed, you’ll need tolearn Foraging Mastery. This unlocks theMystic Tree Seed and the Treasure Totem crafting recipes. This also unlocks theability to find Golden Mystery Boxes, and these contain special items when opened.
to unlock Foraging Mastery, you’ll need togain access to the Mastery Cave. This is a cave in thesoutheast corner of Cindersap Forest, and it unlocks once you getall your skills to level ten.

The skills you’ll need to max out to unlock the Mastery Cave arefarming, mining, foraging, fishing, and combat.
Once you make it inside the Mastery Cave, you’ll findpillars representing the different skills. You’ll needmastery pointsin order to unlock each pillar.
There arefive levels worth of mastery pointsto reach in order to unlock all skill mastery pillars. You’ll need 10,000 mastery points tounlock level one, and thetotal needed increases by 5,000 for every levelafter that.
Once you have reached enough mastery points to unlock a new pillar, you’ll receive a notification stating"You’ve reached a new level of understanding…". You can then proceed tounlock the pillar for Foraging Mastery.
you may gain mastery points bygaining experience points in any skill. All actions that grant experience will collectively count as experience for mastery points.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll have the recipe for Mystic Tree Seedin your crafting menu.
How To Craft A Mystic Tree Seed
In order to craft a mystic tree seed, you’ll needfive of each of the different wild tree seeds:
Acorn

Chopping or shakingOak Trees, digging through garbage bins, a Woodskip Fish Pond with a population of 9.
Maple Seed
Chopping or shakingMaple Trees, digging through garbage bins, a Woodskip Fish Pond with a population of 9.
Pine Cone

Mahogany Seed

Once you have five of each seed, you canselect the Mystic Tree Seed recipefrom your crafting menu. The recipe grants youone seed for each complete set of ingredients.
If you need to grow the different trees to obtain their seeds, you can plant their seeds, and thenusetree fertilizerto speed up their growth.
How To Grow A Mystic Tree
AMystic Treewill grow from a Mystic Tree Seed. These types of treesdo not drop their seeds when shaken or chopped.
These trees go throughfive stagesin order to become fully matured, and they’ll go into the next stage of growthonly by chance:

The tree has a15% chance to enter the next stageof growth overnight in Spring, Summer, and Fall.
The tree has a30% chance of entering the next stageof growth overnight during any season.
When chopped down, Mystic Trees onlydropHardwood. If the stump is chopped down, it dropsone piece of Hardwood.
How To Get Mystic Syrup
You can use a tapper on Mystic Trees in order to getMystic Syrup. Once your tree is tapped, it’ll produce Mystic Syrupafter a few days:

Mystic Syrup is considered an artisan good, buthaving the Artisan Profession does not affect it. Having the Tapper Professionincreases its value by 25 percent.
What Can You Do With Mystic Syrup
Mystic Syrup can be sold, traded, consumed, given as a gift, used in dyeing, orused in crafting recipes.

to trade your Mystic Syrup for Fairy Dust at the Giant Stump, you’ll need tocomplete 6 requests given by the raccoon husband.
None of the villagers like or love Mystic Syrup as a gift. Most will give aneutral reaction to this item, except forHaleywho dislikes it.
Mystic Syrup counts asblue dye when using the dye potsin Emily’s house. This counts ascyan dye when placed in a spoolwhile using aSewing Machine.
What Crafting Recipes Use Mystic Syrup
Mystic Syrup is an ingredient in two crafting recipes:Treasure Totem and Blue Grass Starter.
You’ll need one Mystic Syrup for the Treasure Totem recipe, and thissells for 20 gold. This is one of the two recipes unlocked after you gain Foraging Mastery.

The Treasure Totem can be used to summon a circle of16 treasure spots. This needs to be usedon terrain that you can dig, or the spots will not appear. If a person or an item is on top of a spot on your Treasure Totem summoning circle,the treasure spot will not appear.
The Treasure Totem is agreat way to collect artifacts, because Mystic syrup is easy to come by. This is a more efficient method in collecting artifacts compared to fishing for chests, digging dirt in the mines, and killing mobs.
The Treasure Totem can also be used increating clothing using a Sewing Machine. Feeding one into the machine along with Cloth willyield aTotem Mask. It can also be used asorange dye in the dye potsin Emily’s House, andbrown dye when used in the Sewing Machinespool.
The only other recipe using Mystic Syrup isBlue Grass Starter. This recipe can be obtained from thevending machine in Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room. The machineonly acceptsQi Gems, and you can unlock the recipe for40 Qi Gems.

Blue Grass Starter placesa patch of Blue Grass on the ground. This can be harvested using ascytheto obtaintwo pieces ofhay, after you have a Silo built on your farm.
The initial patch of Blue Grassspreads over time, if left to grow. This can be used tofeed animals when they’re roaming outsidetheir barns or coops. Once the animals consume a patch of Blue Grass completely,it disappears.
Blue Grass providesmore food compared to regular Grass, even when grown on the ground. Animals will only need toeat half the amount of grass when it’s blue, compared to the regular type. That being said,it grows at a slower rate.
When an animal consumes Blue Grass, thefriendship gained with the farmer is doubled.
