You find Shennong in the intro chapter initially. This grumpy old man mocks Yi for being an outcast. After completing the intro chapter, you will find Shennong later in desperate need of Yi’s help in the game as he seeks “something poisonous.” This guide details Shennong’s location and how to find poison for him in the game.
Where Is Shennong?
You willfind Shennong in the lower levels of Lake Yaochi Ruins. You will get toaccess this area after you run into Goumang’s trapfor the first time, and her minions break the cage that falls in the lower levels of Lake Yaochi Ruins.
Thislocation is home to poisonous yellow water and waterfallsthat immediately damage Yi. You must carefully do some platforming toreach the lower levels of Lake Yaochi Ruinsand find Shennong desperately seeking something poisonous to eat.
How To Find Poison For Shennong
Thebest way to find poisonous itemsis bypurchasing them from Chiyou.Chiyou is a merchantthatappears at various stagesas you progress. However, you will find him for the first time after defeating the Red Tiger Elite boss in the lower levels below the Pavilion.
Chiyou mainly sellsJades, Computing Units,and poisonous materials. The purchasable toxins will not make much sense until you find Shennong.

If you do not find Shennong at the spot where you initially found him, he will move to the Pavilion. Simply fast travel using the Node system and interact with Shennong at the Pavilion.
You willget a Medicinal Brewaftergiving the poisonous item to Shennongfor the first time. Thishealth upgrade increases Yi’s base health.
After that, every time yougive Shennong two poisonous items, he willreward you with one Medicinal Brew.
