Jewels are unique little items that you may obtain inV Risingin order to add new effects to your unlocked abilities. It’s easy to put jewels to the side and forget about them, but at times, jewels can be incredibly important.
In this guide, we are going to take a look at how to find and use jewels. Jewels can eventually be crafted, but the best way to obtain jewels early on in the game is to just find them in the world. Here, we are also going to take a look at what to do with excess jewels that fill up your inventory.

How Do Jewels Work?
Jewels can beput onto unlocked skills to provide extra effects. To use a jewel, you canright-click on it directly from your inventory, which puts it on the relevant skill.
Each jewel pertains to a specific ability. Some abilities have more than one jewel option, but jewels only have one associated skill.

From your spellbook, you will be able to take a closer look at jewels. Skills that have a little jewel icon below them have an assigned jewel;you may also put jewels on skills that you aren’t currently using.
Above, you can see that the three Unholy skills on the left of the skill wheel all have a jewel equipped. By looking below the skill description, you can see the jewel being used. In our example above. the skillWard of the Damned has the Cursed Skull Talisman jewel equipped. This jewel provides the following effects.

What Types Of Jewels Can You Use?
There arefour tiers of jewels, with each one having an extra effect.Tier one jewels have one trait, while tier four jewels have four. As new traits are added, the jewel becomes stronger. As such, you will be at your strongest if all of your skills have a tier-four jewel on them.
There are a lot of possible modifiers for each jewel; for the most part, all of the modifiers are beneficial. Overall,a tier-one jewel is better than no jewel.

How To Find Jewels
Jewels can belooted from chests and enemies around the world. There is no way to guarantee what type of jewel you get;once the jewel drops, its stats and name are randomized.
The best way to find jewels is tosimply kill enemies and loot any chests that you find.Higher level enemies may also drop higher-tier jewels. We suggest fighting V Blood carriers when possible,as they have a good chance of dropping a jewel.

Golden Chestsare unique chests that need to be unlocked first and contain valuable loot. These have a low chance of spawning where normal chests are;these have a very good chance of holding a jewel!
