The new indie game,Little Kitty, Big City, features an adorable black cat who’s fallen from his favorite nap spot and must now figure out how to get home. Throughout your journey as Kitty, you’ll find various cute and silly cat hats to wear, a few of which allow you access to different areas in the game.
There are 42 hats in total to collect, and while many are easy to find, just as many can be quite tricky to locate. We’ve got everything you need to know here about which hats you can find and how to get them. You’ll be the best dressed cat in the whole city!
Apple Hat Location
The first hat you’ll find is theApple Hat. After you talk to the crow about trading Shinies for Fish, take a left at the fork in the road.
There’s a small parking lot on the left side of the road. One space has a white car parked in it, the other space iswhere you’ll find the Apple Hat.
Ladybug Hat Location
Across the road from the crow’s location, another hatrests on top of the green van. This is theLadybug Hat. To get this, walk around to the front of the van andcrouch through the holein the fence. Once you’re through, jump up on the pallets to your right and drop on the other side. If you’relooking for Shinies, you’ll find one on the ground here.
The boxes to your right will lead youright up to where the Ladybug Hatis.
Hard Hat Location
The hard hat is in a construction area with aconstruction worker patrolling. If the worker sees you, he will pick you up and throw you out. The hat will help you navigate the area without getting kicked out, but first you need to get to it.
The hard hat is located on the top of one of thescaffolding unitsin the construction area. To get there, turn right,then follow the road to the dog.Go up the stairs to your right, and at the top of the stairs, jump up onto the crates covered by a tarp.
Finally, use a precision jump tojump down onto the scaffolding.
Banana Hat Location
To find the Banana Hat, go to theold ladies' produce stand, which you should find down the road from the construction site where you found the Hard Hat.
Head down the road, and around the corner to the left and theproduce shop will be on your left.
In the back is an open door. Go through the back room and out into the alley behind the shop, turn right, and you’ll find theBanana Hat behind some crates.
Eggplant Hat Location
When you’re able tomake it past the first dog, you’ll see a hat location behind a fence that you don’t see anyway to get to. To get there, you need togo back to the first soccer net, the green one.
Behind it there are some vines going up the fence. If you’ve receivedat least one fish energy, you should be able to climb it. Then just walk around the wall to get the Eggplant Hat.
While you’re here,keep going around the walltill you see a black cat cleaning itself. Talk to it to receive theBeauty Routine emote.
Turtle Hat Location
To the left of the Duck there is theplayground he mentioned with the robots. There’s a robot statue and a slide that also looks like a robot. Go around the outside of the playground till you’re directly behind the robot slide.
Use the trash can to jump onto the wall. At the end of the wall,there’s a pipe on your left, and a small ledge between the building and the wall. you’re able to either make a precision jump to the pipe and walk onto the ledge, or jump to the ledge directly.
Down below, on the other side of the ledge,you’ll find the Turtle Hat.
After writing this section, I actually found amuch easier way of getting to this hatthat I didn’t notice before. Instead of climbing up, walk further down, past the Hat Vending Machine.There’s a hole in the fencethat you can crawl through to get the Turtle Hat.
Shiba Hat Location
The location for this hat is on the other side of the gatebehind the first house you come to in the game, but you won’t be able to access it until you’ve unlocked thefast travel system called Petworkwith Tanuki.
When you finally reach this area, you’ll be greeted by a dog who haslost his extra special tennis balls. Once you find all three of the balls (which are located in the yard), the dog will give you the Shiba Hat, which you’re able to now use toget past the other dogs in the city.
After you have this hat,use it to find bones to put in each dog’s food bowl.The bone will keep them distracted so you don’t always have to wear the Shiba Hat.
Butterfly Hat Location
Now that you have a way to get past the dogs,go back to the first dogyou come across in the city. It’s on the corner of the road opposite from where you got the Ladybug Hat.
Walk around the small,fenced-off construction siteon your left till you see a little hole you can crawl through. Inside there is whereyou’ll find the Butterfly Hat.
Duck Hat Location
TheDuck Hatis a reward forfinishing the Quack Troops quest. Find and speak with Duck at the shrine at the center of the city. He will send you on a quest tofind his lost ducklings.
When you’ve successfully returned the ducklings home, you’ll receive the Duck Hat.
Onigiri Hat Location
The Quack Troops quest willbring you into the convenience store. While you’re in there, jump on the front desk next to the cash register, then from there,precision jump onto the store shelves.
Follow the store shelves to the back and jump onto the coolers, then go through the vent. Hang a right andjump down into the bathroomto pick up the Onigiri Hat.
Fish Hat Location
At the opposite end of the fishing pier by the river there’s ahat behind a fence and gate. It may look like there’s no way to get there, but it’s really quite simple.
Walk down the stairs then jump up next to the bushes and trees. There’s aspace between the wall and the fencethat you can jump into. Inside you’ll find theFish Hat.
Corn Hood Location
Behind the construction site, there is adog guarding this hat. To get past the dog you’ll either need to wear the Shiba Hat, orput a bone in his dish.
To find the bone, put on the Hard Hat, and enter the construction site. Straight ahead there is a hole in the wall. Crawl through it andpick up the bone. Next, climb up the vines, jump down to your right, andplace the bone in the bowl.
Once you’re able to get past the dog, you canpick up the Corn Hood.
Mushroom Hat Location
Go down the road in front of the playground. When you get to the corner, keep going straight on the sidewalk,then turn left into a small garden area with a nap spot. Inside here you’ll find the Mushroom Hat.
Bao Hat Location
Go back to the garden where you first met Chameleon. Going up the house there aretwo sets of vines, with a ledge halfway up. If you have at least three fish by now, you should be able to climb up to the roof of the house.
Walk across to the roof of the next house tofind the Bao Hat.
Cactus Hat Location
In the playground,behind the robot statue, there’s a small hole in the wall that you’re able to crawl through. Here you’ll find theCactus Hat.
Satsuma Hat Location
The Satsuma Hat is located inside asmall closed-off corneracross the road from the Arcade.
Just crawl through the hole in the fence to retrieve theSatsuma Hat.
Top Hat Location
The Top Hat can only be obtained bycompleting theChameleon’s challenge: Find Chameleon.
You first meet Chameleon in the backyard of a house across the street from the produce stand. Chameleon is on the side of the house, and when you talk to him,he will lead you on a scavenger huntto find him in various locations around the city.
Once you’ve solved his puzzles and finished the quest,Chameleon will reward you with his Top Hat.
Crab Hat Location
The Crab Hat is located on top of one of the houses in thebeginning area of the game.Head back to where the guy was painting in his yard and look up. You should see vines in various spots leading up.
Start on the other side of the fence,opposite the large puddle of water. From the ground there are vines you can climb up. Follow the remaining parkour path all the way up till you end at a small balcony.Here you’ll find the Crab Hat.
Tiger Hat Location
The Tiger Hat is in a location that can be a bit tricky to get you, which is why weprovided a video aboveof how to get there. You will need to traverse a series of blowing vents, ledges, and vines to get to it.
Start at theblue truck next to the playground. Use the crates at the back to jump up onto the boxes in the truck, then use the boxes to climb uponto the awning.
Next, you will have to get pasttwo blowing vents. Wait for the air to stop, then you should be able to move forward and around the corner.
If you get too close to one of the vents the airwill push you offand you’ll have to start all over, so be careful!
At the end of the next awningthere’s a third fan, with some vines right behind to it. Wait for the fan to stop blowing, then jump up the vines. This fanturns back on quickly, so you’ll need to leap up the vines to avoid being blown away.
Next, take the vines all the way to the right, to a ledge that runs behind a billboard. Even if you have four fish, you’ll still need tostop on top of the fan unitto reset your energy meter. Jump onto the ledge andpickup the Tiger Hat.
Sunflower Hat Location
After you get the Tiger Hat, you’re in theperfect place to get the Sunflower Hat next. Climb the vines back to the left, but instead of going down, keep going to the left, thenfollow the pipe around the building.
Keep following the series of pipes, walkways, and air conditioner units till youarrive on a large balconywith a yoga mat, a golf hole, and a green screen backdrop. If you’ve finished the Beetle quests already, you should recognize this spot as the home ofBeetle’s boss, Taffy.
Jump onto the balcony wall and follow it past the yoga mat to the end, then turn left andgo behind the wooden partition. The Sunflower Hat is on the balcony on the other side.
Little Devil Hat
Go back to the spot where youfirst learned how to pounce on birds. On the side of the building,climb up the vines to the air conditioner, then jump onto the roof.
Turn right and jump over the fence onto the next roof, then go straight anddown the wooden ramp. There you will find the Little Devil Hat.
Shinies For Hats
Located around the city are a few vending machines with cute little pictures of cat hats on the front. After you’ve traded25 Shinies with the Crow for your first fish, when you walk up to one of these machines you’ll be greeted by the Crow with a new proposition:Shinies For Hats!
For some Shinies, the crow will procure a hat for you from the machine.Each machine holds four hats.The order in which they’re given to you by the crow is random, but for each one you getyou’ll see a checkmark on the frontof the machine. Most hats will cost you ten Shinies, but a few of them cost only five.

Personalized Collar Location
When you’re finally able to make itback up to your human’s apartment, your human greets you upon arrival and gifts you with a collar that has your name on it!
The gamewill prompt you to choose a name, and now you get to wear your Personalized Collar soeveryone knows your name!But you still also get to swap it with the other various hats you’ve collected whenever you want.
