As the lord of your people inManor Lords, you are responsible for providing for all their needs. A belly full of a variety of foods, clothes to wear, firewood to keep warm in winter, and a burgage for shelter and to go back to after a tiring day.
Homelessness is one of the first alarming statuses you will notice as you start your journey in the game. You start with a small settlement camp that offers little protection against the weather, bandits, and possibly an invading army. Therefore, this guide contains information about how you can get rid of homelessness.

Manor Lords is in Early Access on Steam. Depending on the final release, we will update this article as required.
How To Get Rid Of Homelessness
Tofix the homelessnessissue in the game, you need to build burgages. The numberof required housingplots, known as burgages, will be displayed asa number with a red house-like iconbelow your region’s name. This shows thetotal quantity of burgages requiredto get rid of the homelessness status.
you may always construct burgages in surplus so that every time a new family comes in, they can easily find a house to occupy.

If your approval rating is below 50 percent, then you do not need to worry about families joining your settlement, as above 50 percent is required for new people to join your colony.
If you areabove the 75 percent approval status of your settlement, then expect ahigher influx of families. This condition requires thatyou always have surplus burgages, otherwise, you willkeep getting homelessness status notificationsand further delay in providing housing will damage your approval rating.
How To Fix The Settlers Not Moving In Burgages Bug
Sometimes, even when you haveconstructed enough burgages, the settlers will never occupy them, and you may still see the homelessness status effect below your controlled region’s name.
Since the game is still in Early Access, aquick fix you’re able to do is reload the save file or close and launchthe game again. This short step should fix the settlers' not moving into the housing issue.
How To Construct Burgages
Burgages are level-one housesthat can beshared by a family. Buildingburgages requires two timber resources, which you can obtain after building a logging camp and assigning at least one family to it.
To build burgages, press the"C" button on the keyboard to open the Construction menu options. Thennavigate to the Residential sectionand burgages will be the first option on the list. You can construct either a single burgage or multiple ones, provided you have enough timber, in any layout.
Each house, by default, can be occupied by one family. However, while constructing the burgage plot,if you extend its length and make the area longer, you will notice ahammer icon under a hut. This indicates ahousing expansion upgrade. Once a burgage is upgraded, it canhouse a second family too.
