Hades 2has lots of items for players to gather, which you will use to create tools, upgrade your powers and abilities, and craft weapons. By using the Rod of Fishing, you’re able to fish in the waters scattered throughout the various worlds.
By using the Twin Lures, you’ll also be able to go on a fishing trip with some other characters, unlocking bonus interactions between them and the protagonist, Melinoë. Here’s everything you need to know about catching fish in Hades 2.

How To Create A Rod Of Fishing
In order to fish in Hades 2, you will first need tocraft a fishing rod- also known as a Rod of Fishing. you’re able to craft one at the tools pentagram in theSilver Pool at the Crossroads.
In order to craft any tools at all, you will first need theIncantation Night’s Craftwork.Night’s Craftwork is a basic and essential Incantation because itallows you to create toolslike the Rod of Fishing. Thesetools are how you extract resources like fish, which you need tosell for Bonesin order to create weapons, and do more advanced Incantations.
You needone Molyto create this Incantation.
To create a fishing rod, you will need the following materials:

Two Fate Fabrics
Sold by theWretched Brokerfor 60 Bones. You will need120 Bonesin total.
One Bronze
Every time you go out, you can only takeone toolwith you.
The Permeation of Witching Wards Incantation
to get the Rod of Fishing, there are a few hoops you need to jump through first.Your first roadblock will be getting Bronze,which can only be mined on theSurface.But in order to get to the Surface, you need to do theIncantation Permeation of Witching Wards.
There is award around the entrance to the Surface,which you need this Incantation to get rid of in order to reach the resources there.Permeation of Witching Wards requires the followingmaterials:
Moly is pretty simple to get, and you should already have a few in your inventory at this point. They areplants found throughout Erebusthat can be gathered without the use of tools.
You can getCinderas a reward for defeating theGuardian of Erebusboss.
Finally, you can get Shadows by using theShadows Extraction recipeat the cauldron in the Crossroads. Creating Shadows requires further resources:30 Ash, 30 Psyche, and three Fate Fabrics.

Where Can You Fish?
you’re able to fish inbodies of water with lots of ripples.These bodies of water can be found onevery map.When you approach them, a command will pop up, giving you the chance to fish.
The best way to find places you can fish is by doing theIncantation Reagent Sensing,which alerts you to resources nearby on your current map, including pools of water where you can fish. Reagent Sensing requiresone Molyto activate.
Molyare a kind of plant that are found throughout Erebus. You cangather them without tools,though the Reagent Sensing Incantation makes them easier for you to spot.
When you fish, you will triggera brief minigame.During this, your goal will be to quicklypress the reel button while the lure is within a small circle,representing the sweet spot where the fish is located.
Yourlure will move back and forth, and you need to press the button while it is in range.You will need to be quick. The amount of time that you have is dictated by the small timer at the bottom of the screen.
You’ll have to hit the button in that sweet spotfive consecutive timesin order to reel in your catch. How many times you have succeeded is indicated byfive small blue circlesat the bottom of the screen.
You are only able to fishonce per pool of water.
What Do You Use Fish For?
In Hades 2, the only thing you may do with fish issell them to the Wretched Broker for Bones.Most of them can be sold for around20 to 30 Bones.Bones are used to purchase things from the Wretched Broker.
Going Fishing With Other Characters
By using theTwin Lures,you can go fishing with a few different characters. This will unlock anextra cutscenebetween these characters and Melinoë, providing extra story and lore.
These cutscenes take place at theCrossroads Fishing Pier,a riverside area outside the main Crossroads.
Don’t worry, you won’t have to fight tooth and nail to get to the Crossroads Fishing Pier. The game will teleport you there after speaking to the target character.
You can obtain Twin Lures bypurchasing them from the Wretched Brokeror byusing the Silver Spade to dig them upin various maps. Theones you purchasefrom the Wretched Broker arelimited, so once they run out, you’ll have to dig up the Lures during your travels to get any more.
Twin Lures will appear in theIndulgencesmenu of your Inventory.
Once you obtain the Twin Lures,speak to one of the characterswho you can go fishing with andpresent them the lures.
You can go fishing with the following characters:
They’ll take the lures as aninvitation to go to the Crossroads Fishing Pier. You’ll go there together, triggering an extra cutscene between Melinoë and their guest.
