Fallout 76features an ever-changing Wasteland that grew a bit larger following the Skyline Valley update, which added new locations, quests, characters, and items to enjoy. The update focuses almost entirely on the dysfunctional Stolz family made up of Hugo, Hilda, Cassidy, and Audrey.
However, their security chief, James Oberlin, is your primary point of contact for the Housekeeping For Hire quest in Fallout 76. While many of your usual goals involve matters of extreme importance, you’ll complete a series of minor tasks for a trio of disgruntled residents.
How To Start Housekeeping For Hire
You receive this questfrom Hugo Stolzafter youcomplete The Calm Before quest,which is preceded bythe Into Lands Unknown quest, butyou must speak to James Oberlinto progress beyond the first step.
Hugo Stolz is a Lost, a new variation of Ghoul introduced in the Skyline Valley update.
Oberlin tells you about some problems in the Residential Area –three inhabitants are having issuesthat they keep asking James to handle, but he doesn’t have time.
Head downstairs to the Residential Area and speak to the three people sitting on the couch:Margaret, Laurence, and Julio.
Speak to them and learn about theset of tasksthey need you to perform on their behalf:
Once you have your three tasks, turn around and use theelevatornext to you to head down to theLower Atrium.
How To Help Margaret, Laurence, And Julio
Immediately after getting off the elevator, you’ll notice a small wagon near some rubble in the room. A light shines directly onAlfie’s room keycard,beside the red toolbox.
Grab the keycardand head to the left into theDepotarea.
The moment you open the door, a bunch ofRadratswill jump out from behind some shelves; defeat them.
From here, use the nearbyterminalin theReactorroom toopen the doorto the generator.
When you stepinside the generator room,five pipes will be marked –repair all five pipesby interacting with them tocomplete your second task.
Don’t get too close to the reactor or your radiation level will skyrocket, killing you if they exceed your max HP.
Head out of the Reactor area and back toward the wagon that had the keycard to Alfie’s room.
Across from the wagon is the door to Alfie’s room;use the keycard to progress forward.
Enter the second door to Alfie’s bedroom anddefeat the Feral Ghoul in this room– Alfie.
Once you put Alfie out of his misery,return to Margaret, Laurence, and Julioto report news of your deeds.
The trio express their gratitude and promise that they’ll put in a good word with Oberlin.
