The threat to Super Earth inHelldivers 2always evolves, and emerging enemies from Terminids and Automatons will appear in the game. Shriekers are the flying bugs that emerged after theTerminid Control Systemmissions ended.
These flying bugs originate from the nest and always attack in groups. Their attacks are lethal and can kill your squad in a few attacks if left unchecked. If you know what theShriekernest looks like, you can spot it from a distance. This guide breaks down the location of the Shrieker’s nest and how to find it and kill these bugs in the game.
How To Find And Kill The Shriekers
To find Shriekersin the game, you need tolocate their nest. If you know what Spore Spewers look like, you will have a decent idea of the Shrieker nest.
While aSpore Spewer is a single tall Terminid structure, a Shrieker Nest contains the same towering design, but there are at least two or three of these structures. Another small change in the design is thatthere are glowing eggs under the roof of the Shrieker nest. These glowing eggs make the Shrieker’s nest visible from a distance and stand it apart from a Spore Spewer.
Another way toeasily find a Shrieker’s nest is to complete the satellite dish alignmentside objective during a 40-minute mission. Thisreveals all the points of interest(POIs) on the map. If the mission you are playing has a Shrieker nest, you willfind a blue-colored mushroom cloud.
You will alsonotice red pings around the Shrieker Nestif you have already discovered it on the map while playing a mission. These enemies are most likely Shriekers themselves, along with a few other bug types such as Hunters, Warriors, and the Chargers.
Always approach as a team to assault the Shrierker nests.Some of your squadmates need to take down flying bugs, and others have to deal with the bugs on the ground. It isvery easy to get swarmed by all sorts of bugswhen you try to take down the nest from a close distance.
Killing Shriekers is not easy.They fly and have a higher mobilitythan most light-armored bugs in the game. However, if you manage to deal consistent damage to a Shrieker, it will go down pretty easily.Use weapons such asLAS-16 SickeandLAS-98 Laser Cannon, as these are excellent at dealing focused fire consistent damage.
Try totake down the initial swarm of Shriekersthat stop you from reaching the nest. There is ashort downtime between more flying bugs appearing from the nestif you manage to kill them all quickly. This will give you enough time to deal with the ground bugs (if any) and focus on destroying the Shrieker nest.
How To Destroy Shrieker Nest
No matter how many Shrieker bugs you kill,if you do not deal with the nest,more will fly and attack you. These flying creatures are persistent in tracking you, which means no matter how far you go, the Shriekers will chase and hunt you down. Even that means venturing far away from their nest.
Thebest method to destroy Shrieker’s nestis to get below these andcall in the Hellbomb. This Hellbomb version is a mission stratagem and becomes accessible to call when you get very close to the nest.Placing the Hellbomb at the center of the nest will deal massive damageand wipe out an entire nest in one blast.
Thedownside of this methodis that you need to get very close to the nest, whichis risky as you will be swarmed by flying and ground bugs. Therefore, a ranged approach may be safer, especially if you are trying to destroy the Shrieker’s nest solo.
The Autocannon, EAT-17 Expendable Anti-tank, andLAS-99 Quasar Cannonarethe best weaponsto destroy Shrieker’snest from a distance.
You mustfire at least two EATs to destroy one Shrieker nest. Quasar Cannon will take a little longer than EAT, as there is a cooldown time before you’re able to fire again. Autocannon takes a little more time to take down nests, but you do not get to wait for cooldowns and get to hit consistently.
On the other hand, if you rely too much on Eagle and Orbitals, theEagle Airstrike and Orbital Laser are thebest stratagemsto wipe out a Shrieker nest. It will take at leastthree Eagle Airstrikes to destroy the nest completely. Whereas you need just one Orbital Laser to demolish the Shrieker structure.
