The second area you visit inRivenis Jungle Island, and it’s much larger than Temple Island. With so much more to explore, it can be a bit overwhelming. Luckily, there aren’t all that many puzzles to solve here… yet. You’ll have to come back later, but for now all you need to do is look around and learn.
This guide highlights the important things that you should absolutely do, plus the easy-to-miss path that leads to Boiler Island, the next stop on your journey. If you’ve already passed Jungle Island and missed anything, it’s not a disaster - you’ll be back soon enough.
Where To Find The Moiety Viewing Glass
When you step off the tram, follow the path through the caves andturn left at the fork. You’ll come to a beach with some large sea creatures sunning themselves on a rock. They’re not aggressive, so don’t worry about them.Turn left againand look at the base of the cliffs for anoverturned bucket.
Hanging from a nail in the cliff above the bucket is the Viewing Glass, which is used by the Moiety rebels tosee their invisible paint. You can use it here to see marking on the cliffs, and it will come in handy later on.
What To Do In The Schoolhouse
Go to the other side of the beach andclimb the stairs. The path will lead to asmall village. You can’t enter, since the bridges are raised, but you canclimb down to a small schoolhousethat was built by Gehn to indoctrinate the local children.
Everything here is in the D’Ni language, except for a few Rivenese markings in red ink. Using the learning tools, you may decipher the basic number systems for both languages, which will come in handy later.
The toy on the table to the left of the entrance works like Hangman; pulling the ring on the side spins the dial, stopping on a random number. The figure on the side the ring is currently on then drops a number of spaces equal to the number rolled. You cankeep spinning the dial and noting which symbols represent which numbersuntil you have a full numerical key for the D’Ni alphabet.
Once you’ve learned the D’Ni numbers, you can look at the paper to the right of the toy. There are some Rivenese numbers written next to their D’Ni counterparts, giving you apartial keyfor that language as well.
How To Leave Jungle Island
You can explore the rest of the island as much as you like, but there isn’t anything else that you can actually do at this point.Go back to the forknear the tramway that you came by, and take the stairs leading upward. You’ll find an area of chopped-down trees.Approach the spatial anomaly on the leftto trigger an Achievement / Trophy, then look for a mine cart on the right that you canride to Boiler Island.
