Catching a Doppelganger red-handed will also earn you the ‘Catch You’ achievement. We’ll walk you through everything you need to know about catching these scary impostors.

How To Get The Catch You Achievement

The ‘Catch You’ achievement is one of therarer achievementsin That’s Not My Neighbor. To earn the achievement, you need to be bothlucky and skilledenough to encounter and catch a Doppelganger red-handed.

This means you need to not onlycatch a Doppelganger, but catch a Doppelganger who believes they are utterly convincing, and whodoesn’t continue their bluffafter you’ve caught them. They won’t go down easily.

Youcancomplete the ‘Catch You’ achievementconcurrently with most other achievementsin the game, and earning this achievement isnot contingent upon survivingyour playthrough.

How To Catch A Doppelganger Red-Handed

To catch a Doppelganger red-handed, you need tothoroughly investigateevery visitor who approaches your door. There is a long list of Doppelgangers who can be caught red-handed, and their giveaways range.

When you catch a Doppelganger red-handed, you will need to question them,going down the itemsof the checklist, in hopes of catching them in a lie. If you do catch them in a lie, they’ll get angry andshift into a more monstrous formright before your eyes.

Caught Doppelgangers willswear at youand complain about being caught. Some willthreaten you, and others will try toconvince youto let them in any way, usually with the promise that you will still be eaten.

Usually, red-handed Doppelgangers reveal themselvesafteryou point out that they arenot on the daily visitation list, but you can catch them for missing other qualifications, too. For instance, you may catch them red-handed because theylook slightly off.

If you are fooled by a red-handed Doppelganger, and youcheck all answerson the checklist as correct, they will tell you that you made the right choice in letting them in. This dialogue bubble proves that they are not who they say they are.

Tips For Catching Doppelganger’s Red-Handed

Catching a red-handed Doppelganger does depend a lot onrandom encounter probability, but there are a few things you can do to increase your chances of catching a Doppelganger red-handed.

Bluff

One great way to catch Doppelgangers red-handed is tobluff each timesomeone comes to your window. You candeliberately check items off as missingon the list to ask visitors for an explanation. If you’re right, the red-handed Doppelganger will reveal itself.

Remember also,checking everything correctlyon the checklist will flush a red-handed Doppelganger out, but itwon’t countas catching them red-handed, since you haven’t called their bluff.

The dialogue cue, ‘That’s the right decision,’ will tell you that youdid meet the red-handed Doppelganger, but since you didn’t report them, itwon’t counttowards the achievement.

Be Thorough

Go over every detailthoroughly,no matter how correct-looking it is.Always call the apartmentsto confirm whether a visitor is meant to be returning home, anddouble-checkthe minutiae of each document.

Don’t neglect to check I.D. numbers or name spelling because it’s difficult. Remember, you can check the correct information byusing the file folderson the wall, or bychecking the Neighbor guide.

Checking and double-checking your decisions to thefile folders and Daily Visitor Listis crucial when catching small inconsistencies in a Doppelganger’s story or appearance.

Since the majority of red-handed Doppelgangers are caught because theyaren’t on the list, you should make sure you check the Daily Visitor List closely each time you meet a visitor.Don’t forgetthis step!

You should also be aware that theI.D. photoson a visitor’s Entry Request or Identification Cardcan be falsifiedto match the incorrect appearance of the Doppelganger at the window.

Never trustI.D. or Entry Request photos. You shouldonlybe comparing visitors' appearances to the photo either on theDaily Visitor LIst or in the three file folders.

Finally, you should alsopay close attention to a visitor’s reasonfor leavingand their professionon their Entry Request Form. Some Doppelgangers will put anincorrect professionon their Entry Request form.

A lot of the time, the incorrect profession on the Entry Request form is actually theprofession of another Neighborin the building. If you haven’t memorized every Neighbor’s profession with certainty, you may not catch these inconsistencies.

Check every Neighbor’s professionin their file before trusting the Entry Request form. Note thatsomeof the Neighbors areretired, unemployed, or housewives. These Neighbors willneverhave Entry Request Forms that say they were at work, so you should be wary.

Lois Stilnksy, Mclooy Rudboys, and Rafttellynare all unemployed, with Mclooy being retired, and Lois and Rafttellyn both housewives. Similarly,Anastacha Mikaelysis also unemployed, as she is a student.None of these Neighborsshould be returning from work.
