The final sequence ofDragon’s Dogma 2sends you through the southern half of Battahl into the Volcanic Island. Up to this point, you hear very little about the guardian, Talos, but you’ll soon come face to face with one of the largest enemies in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

As you progress toward the end of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Talos, a.k.a. The Guardian Giagantus emerges from slumber at the bottom of the ocean, and begins a destructive rampage. Prepare for a dash across a large section of the map as you rush to keep pace with Talos, and eventually stop its march.

How To Start The Guardian Gigantus

To start The Guardian Giagantus, you must firsthelp Ambrosius during the quest A New Godsway, which will lead directly into this quest.

Once Ambrosius hands over the Godsway to you, you’ll receive a prompt letting you know the quest has begun.

However, to get the events moving, you must head to theSpellseal Door at the southern end of the Flamebearer Palace.

As you approach the door, a cutscene will show Phaesususing his Godsway to open the Spellseal Door.

Approach the door yourself and use theEmpowered Godsbane Bladeyou received from Ambrosius to unlock the door.

Progress through the doorto properly begin The Guardian Gigantus.

How To Finish The Guardian Gigantus

Head forward until you trigger the cutscene where Talos is making its way through the water ona path to the Moonglint Tower.

Head straight along the verdant islandsahead of you to keep up with Talos.

The Clash And Conclusion Reward from defeating Raghnall in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

If you trigger thecutscene, the sequence with Talos will remain on atimer, so you could miss it if you run away.

Keep to the path and rush to theMoonswax Bridge, then down the stone stairs on the leftto another portion of the island.

As you approach the next bridge, another cutscene withPhaesusandRaghnallwill play and Talos will throw aspearat thebridgeahead of you,knocking it outof commission.

Raghnallis now working with Phaesus. If you’ve encountered him before, yourfinal confrontationis fast approaching.

You needan alternate route into the Volcanic Islandto follow Talos.

Cross Onto The Volcanic Island

After Talos throws the spear, look over to the right to seea path of small islands jutting out of the water, perfectly forming a route to the mainland of theVolcanic Island.

Progress onto the island andup the mountainside, keeping Talos in view the entire time.

As you reach the end of the path, you’ll come out ontoa clearing with a beach, where Talos will be heading.

Prepare to take down the Guardian Gigantus.

Fight Talos, The Guardian Gigantus

The fight against Talos won’t be a matter of hurling endless amounts of damage at it.

Instead, you must target allsix stakes on Talos' bodyto damage it and eventually defeat this behemoth.

The stakes are impaled in these locations:

You mustfind pointsalong the path where you canjump onto Talos' bodyand climb over to one of thestakes.

The first bridgeon the path is a great spot to take out a few stakes in one jump.

Land on the head and take out the stakes on the eye, shoulder, and back to get a solid start.

Alternatively, you will have opportunities todraw Talos' attentionand get it to swing at you, so you canjump onto it.

When youdestroya stake, look for it on the ground, as you canlootoneWakestone Shardfrom each broken stake.

The stakes can also belooted lateronce the fight is over.

Continue following Talos along the path, taking out as many stakes as you can.

Once you seeTalos approach a small bridge, you know you’re getting to thelast sectionof the battle.

The battle is on a set path, so there’s no need to rush, as you cannot destroy every stake until you have gotten close enough to the final stretch.

A ballista shotwill send Talos crashing down into the small bridge, damaging it, and causing it tolose an arm.

Use a ballista on either side of the path topick off any remaining stakesyou did not destroy earlier.

As Talosapproaches a final wooden bridge, it will fall,defeatedonce all its stakes have been destroyed.

With Talos taken care of, it’s time to progress through theExcavation Site toward Moonglint Tower, where Phaesus and his crew are headed.

Takeone last rest at the Inn at the Excavation Site, so you have ahard savebefore the ending.

An NPC named Henrique will advise you to do the same before you move on.

Pursuing Phaesus

Once you’ve made yourfinal preparations, head to Moonglint Tower to crossthe point of no return.

When you enter, you’ll seePhaesusand his crew run up ascaffoldingto the left,destroyingit as they cross.

Proceed down thetunnelto therighttoward a massiveelevator.

Take the elevatorto the top and cross off the scaffolding onto a stone area.

If you encounteredRaghnallearlier in the game during theTensions on the Highroad quest, he will appear here to finish the fight he promised you would have.

He is defensive, but if you stay aggressive and try toattack Raghnall from behind, you should take him down shortly.

Enjoy the15,000 Gand7,600 XPfrom completing the Clash and Conclusion quest when you defeat Raghnall.

You can revive him with aWakestoneonce you complete the quest and he will join you laterduring the events of the True Ending.

Pick up theMoonglint Keyand use it to continue through the gate and up the stairs.

Grab thechestat the top of the stairs for anAllhealElixir.

Go leftup the slanted stone pathway, and continue along toward the large door up a final set of stairs.

Approach the tornado to trigger thefinal cutscene, where Phaesus will have the false Sovran attack you,completing The Guardian Gigantus once the fight begins.

What Rewards Do You Get From The Guardian Gigantus?

Immediately after completing The Guardian Gigantus, you’llenter the Legacy quest, the final major quest of the game (unless you choose the True Ending).

While there’sno incredible armor set or magical weapon waitingat the end of this quest, there are plenty of great endgame rewards coming your way, depending on which ending you choose to follow.

The Guardian Gigantus serves as part one of this two-part finale, so keep playing until the end to get your rewards.

Given this is the end of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you must start a new game save file to use any rewards you do acquire once you complete the story.
