InHades 2, you go through various biomes to finally face off against Chronos, the titan of time. Each main or mini-boss encounter in the game is a test of skills and whenever Melinoe fails, she only becomes stronger by unlocking various incantations.

Queen Lamia is one of the mini-boss fights that you will find as you try to reach Infernal Cerberus. She is a lot tougher than the regular Lamia, but if you learn about the boss’s attack patterns and the strategy to beat her, you will be one step closer to victory.

Description

Ground Slam

Queen Lamiauses her staff and slams into the ground to deal AoE damagewhenever Melinoe gets too close to her.

Vertical Lasers

Queen Lamia conjures three vertical lasersthat chase you down. The cast remains as long as the boss is conjuring it.

Orb Projectile

Queen Lamia alsocasts a red-orb projectilethat chases you slowly. Itbursts if Melinoe is hitby it. Or else, it willconvert into slime that slows Melinoeif she is hit by it.

Lamia Companions

There arefour Lamia minions in the boss arena that cast one vertical laserper enemy. Each enemy is armored and, until the armor is damaged, the hits do not interrupt the casting.

Queen Lamia Location

You canfind Queen Lamia in the Fields of Mourning biome. She isone of the two mini-bosses, the other being the Phantom.

Themini-bosses are always optionalunless you seeboth area doors with skullson them. In such a situation, there is no option but to go through either and fight the boss to advance the level.

How To Beat The Queen Lamia

The first step in beating Queen Lamia is toeliminate the four Lamia companionsplaced around the main boss.

Allfour Lamia minions have armor, and each onecasts vertical lasersto chase you. Hitting them during thearmored state will not interrupt the cast, so you have to hit and run until the armor is depleted. Otherwise, you will be hit by five to six vertical lasers.

Melinoe applying freeze status effect on Queen Lamia in Hades 2

Each of theLamia minions stands on a platformthat is alittle hard to attack. However, if you haveranged weapons like Umbral Flames and or medium-range Witch’s Staff, you can strike easily.

The Moonstone Axe has a decent AoE range and a slam attack, but thelasers chasing you leave little room to land slow animation attackscompared to the fast ones. Therefore, thebest strategy here would be to kill one Lamia at a time, even if that means circling the arena to avoid lasers and then moving to another one.

Queen Lamia also casts the vertical lasersalongside the minions, butshe conjures three lasersinstead of one. Even though the lasers chase you, you’re able to eitherrun away, circle aroundthe boss,or dodge them and continue attackingthe boss.

Do not get too close Queen Lamia, otherwise she will do a staff slam attack.

Hitting Queen Lamia will also not interrupt the attacksasshe too has armor. Her baseHP (health point) is very lowwhen you compare it to a higher armor point. But to get to that, you willfirst need to deplete the armor.

Queen Lamia will also occasionally send a red-orb projectilethat will chase you slowly for a short duration. It willburst and deal damageif it catches up to you, or you bump into it accidentally.

Otherwise, itturns into a slimy thing after a short while. If you step into it in this form, Melinoe will move slowly for a short duration.

Once Queen Lamia’sarmor(visible by the yellow barabove the head)is depleted, you are close to defeating her. You can alsoapply various status effects on Queen Lamia, such as freezing her using the Demeter, Goddess of Seasons' Boons, and this makes killing her much easier.

You canapproach the boss fight by directly assaulting Queen Lamiawhile ignoring the others,or defeating the minions first and approaching the main boss after. In any case, the magical lasers, either cast by the minions or the main boss, will always be a problem for you.

Luckily, dodging or running away from them is easier than most swift attacks in the game. We recommend you employ the latter strategy instead of the former one.
