The Phantom is one of the toughest mini-boss encounters that gets challenging every time you get hit. By the time you reach the third biome, you should have collected enough Boons to defeat this boss. This guide details the Phantom’s attacks and how to defeat the boss.

Description
Claw Swipe
The Phantom charges thefirst attack and launches a swipe attack. A second claw swipe attack then succeeds.
Health Drain
The Phantom charges for a short duration andunleashes a long-range pull attack. During this time, thePhantom saps the health of Melinoe, applies the Daze status effect, andgets some health back.
Uppercut
The Phantomcharges an upper-cut attackand itshit also regenerates the boss’s health. If Melinoe continues to stay in the range, theboss launches a follow-up swipe attack.
Teleportation
Theboss will teleport occasionallyand change locations in the arena. This happens mostly when Melinoe goes far away from the boss, or the Phantom is too close to her.
Charged Claws
ThePhantom raises both armsand charges for a short time, after that itlaunches a swift claw attack right in front of it.
ThePhantom is a bloodthirsty vampire-like mini-boss. When you enter the boss’s room, it’saccompanied by more than ten Blight Shade enemies. These small minions do not spawn once you have killed them all.

Phantom Location
You canfind the Phantom in the Fields of Mourning biome. Thisbiome has two mini-bosses, and you will either faceQueen Lamia or the Phantomwhen you enter a mini-boss arena.
If you see askull on the door beneath a Boon’s icon, it means thenext arena you enter will be a boss fight.Mini-boss fights are not forcedencounters, and you can alwayschoose any other door to proceedtoward reaching the final boss of a particular biome.
Sometimes, both doors can lead to boss rooms, but this happens rarely. In this situation, there is no option but to face the mini-boss awaiting you.
How To Beat The Phantom
Thefirst step to beat the Phantomis to clear the room bykilling all the Blight Shadeenemies. It will make focusing on the Phantom much easier and dodging its attacks a breeze.
With each attack, thePhantom steals some of Melinoe’s life. TheHealth Drain attack, in particular, dazes Melinoe, takes away most of her health, and replenishes the boss’s vitalityin exchange.
Try tostay at medium to long rangeanddo not get hit. If you do, the Phantom gets its health back, undoing all your hard work.
Almost all thePhantom’s attacks are not swift and sudden. There is asmall charging animationthat is easy tospot and dodge before the Phantom lands an attackon you.
Ranged weapons such asUmbral Flames will make the boss fight easieras you get to hit the Phantom from a distance.
However, theMoonstone Axe is often betterfor this encounter. Thisweapon hits hard, has a small AoE, and the final swipe attack also comes with splash damage. TheOmega Attack sends Melinoe spinning in a whirlwind, which you can use todeal maximum damage, especially since thePhantom is vulnerable from the backfor a few seconds after unleashing its Health Drain attack.
Avoid getting hit by the Phantom’s attacks, andmaintain distanceafter dealing a few strikes and the Phantom will be defeated in a couple of minutes.
