Poison Mud
The aftermath ofjump slam attacks leaves poisonous mudthat stays at the landing spot for some time. If Kril enters this pool, thepoison status effect bar will start filling up. The Diseased Lichenthrope boss fight can become a challenging encounterto get through if you are not prepared. You need tolevel up Krill adequatelyso that he hasenough vitality and attackto withstand the boss’s attacks and hit him hard per hit.
While fighting this boss, youmust utilize the Royal Wave Adaptation. Youget this bydefeating the Duchess Magistain Fort Slacktide. This encounter is a part of the story, so you cannot miss it.

When applied to the Diseased Lichenthrope boss, thisAdaptation will expose him to increased damage. Any attack Krill landson the bosssignificantly depletes the health barwhile the Adaptation is applied. This isvisually visible by a golden glowon the boss’s entire body.
While Krill’s fork demands you get too close to the boss and land attacks, youmust be alert and avoid the aggro attack. This becomesvisible via a red indicator over Krill’s headwhenever the boss charges the attack animation. Therefore, thebest way to deal damage is to land quick light attacksorone heavy attackand then retreat to a safe distance.

When theboss starts summoning minions, try totake them out immediately. If you have leveled up Krill adequately and upgraded his weapon, theminions will die easily from one shot.
Remove the lock-onentirely when the Diseased Lichenthrope bosssummons minions. You willnot be able to see the entire scenarioof the boss fightif you lock on to one small target. This could result in getting hit by the boss’s attacks without seeing him in the frame.

Landing one to two swipe attacks on the boss repeatedly will deplete his health. However, if you get hasty and stay in close quarters for too long, theboss will hit you with left or right-arm swipe attacks. There isat least a half-second animation delaywhen the attack lands, so you canuse this time frame to dodgeit. Time your attack and dodge promptly.
Lastly, avoid getting hit by the jump slamat all costs. The easiest way to do this is bydodging either the left or right sideinstead of the back. Not only does this deal massive damage to Krill, but thepoison mud builds up the poison status effect.

Krill’smovement will get slow, and thehealth drain startswhen the poison bar maxes out. Thislasts for the bar’s duration, which is enough for the boss to kill Krill.
