Heikea is a story-related boss in the game that may seem harmless and slow, but he hits like a truck. Beating the boss gives you a map, which is required to progress the story. However, for that, you must first beat this intimidating crab. This guide explains all of Heikea’s attacks and the best strategy to beat him
Heikea Boss Location
Heikea is located in theExpired Grove near the Oil Drumcheckpoint. Going north from the checkpoint willlead Krill to the path above, which is then followed by apipe leading to another platform. After coming out of the pipe,take a left,and you willfind the location of the Heikeaboss.
Description
Overhead Stick Smash
Heikea jumps,grabs the stick in both handsand lands with anoverhead smash attack. At least one second before the attack warning, ablue icon appears on Krill’s head.
Ground Smash
While staying on the ground,Heikea charges the stickat its back andunleashes it with full mightright in front of it. This is theboss’s go-to attackwhen his health ranges from70 to 100 percent.
Fright Attack
When Heikea’s health drops below 70 percent,he changes stanceand turns hisback towards Krill with the stick above his head. After that, heunleashes the fright attackto force Krill to hide in the shell. As soon as the attack ends, it isfollowed by a stick swipe attackthatcovers 180 degreesat the front of the boss.
Aggro Grab
Below 60 percent health,Heikea will start using the aggo grabattack. If the boss catches you, he willcrush Krill with the right pincerand throw him at a certain distance. If you happen to stand near the edge, theboss will throw you below the boss arena.
Two-handed Weapon
The boss willbreak his weapon into twowhen you deplete Heikea’shealth below 50 percent.
Dual Swipes
After breaking the weapon into two sticks, the boss willstart hurling sticks two times in a row. If caught by the first strike, blocking the second one will be challenging.
Swipe And Smash
Heikea will switch his standard attacks. If he starts thefirst stick swipe attack with the right pincer, thefollow-up attackwill not end with another swipe butan overhead smash attack.
How To Beat Heikea, Intimidation Crab
Heikea’s attack speed is slow, but each attackhits hard. Beating this bossrequires patienceas rushing will get you killed by theoverwhelming might of the attacks. You also need tolevel up Krill at least to the stats we mentionedabove. Otherwise, with low vitality and attack power, beating Heikea will be challenging.
The best way to deplete Heikea’s health faster is towait for the boss to complete his attacksfirst. Therecovery animation is long, and the boss does not have many follow-up attacks, giving youenough time to strike back.
For example, Heikea’s overhead stick smash is a mighty attack. Once theboss has landed on the ground from the air, you have a couple of seconds tostrike Heikea and deplete his health.
If you havestowaways that favor higher attack powerat the expense of speed, land at leastone charged attack. Otherwise,two to three light attackscan easily be landed on Heikea before the boss starts swinging his stick.
The boss’sground smash attack makes him vulnerableon the sides. Alwaysdodge to either the left or rightside of the Heikea, and you will have acouple of seconds to strike back.
The only time you need not rush Heikea is during the fright scream attack.
When thescream ends, the bossfollows up with a 180-degree stick swingattack. If you are hit, you will not only waste an opportunity to strike the boss but alsodeplete much of Krill’s health.
Therefore, as soon as the fright scream attack ends,approach the boss and press the dodgebutton in any direction to get clear of the stick swing. This will give you enough time to strike Heikea with a few hits.
Unlike the unforgiving aggro grab attack ofthe Pagurus boss, theaggro grab of Heikea is much more forgiving. This attack will still deplete much of Krill’s health, but theboss has no one-shot capabilitylike Pagurus.
Whenever you see thered icon over Krill’s head,press the dodge button in any direction, preferably away from Heikea, and you willavoid getting caughtby it.
TheHeikea boss becomes a little toughwhen hishealth falls below 50percent, and hebreaks the stick into two pieces. Dual swipes become his go-to attacks that can easily be dodged.
As soon as yousee Heikea lifting the left pincerin the air,dodge toward the bossto avoid the first swing.Immediately press the dodge button againso asnot to get by Heikea’s follow-up attack. You can strike after that.
