Dual Blows

A cross will appear in the arena, don’t stand near these linesas this is where the attack will happen.

Steeled Strike

An arena-wide AoE attack around Gulool Ja Ja that has two small safe areas above each blade marker. It can appear as blue or orange markers.

You want tostand above the brighter glowing blade on the ground, just above the straighter side of the blade, not the curved blade (as shown in the image on the right).

Coiled Strike

Gulool Ja Ja jumps back to the side of the arena and then rushes at you, inflicting Down for the Count and heavy damage. He will use this only once after the cutscene when he reaches about 90 percent health and itcannot be avoided.

Battle Breaker

Drops circular attacks all over the arena in quick succession. You need toavoid the circular markers. He will use this several times in quick succession after the cutscene at about 90 percent health and then not use it again.

Morning Stars

Similar to above where Gulool Ja Ja will drop circular markers all over the arena, but this time it will show where they will land in three different staggered phases in quick succession. You need to avoid all three waves of attacks.

These attacks will leavefirey circles that inflict Burning, so don’t stand in them.

Burning Sun

Thisalways follows Burning Sun, where Gulool Ja Ja willkick you in the direction of the arrows shown.

Brawl Ender

For thefirst time he uses it, it creates three Shades of himselfthat will stand at the arena edge and eventually attack in a straight line in front of themselves called Glory Blaze. Don’t stand in the part of the arena where they are facing.

Forsubsequent uses, it creates a single Shade that will use another move shortly before or after Gulool Ja Ja’s next attack, so be prepared to be hit by two abilities in quick succession.

For thefinal time he uses, Galool Ja Ja creates three Shades that then create their own Shades, so there are six total. Three will use Glory Blaze, one will use Steeled Strike, and the final two will use The Thrill.

Doubling

A pillar appears and you need tostand where the pillar is to take the least amount of damage.

If this move is being recast by a shade, stand in the middle of the first pillar to have appeared, then run to the secondafter the first attack lands.

The Thrill

Gulool Ja Ja Battle Strategy

Gulool Ja Ja will open with the same few moves. Be on the lookout for the AoE markers and move as needed (there’s a breakdown above of each attack and what to look out for).

Once he reaches about90 percent health, he’ll announce that “The spearman did not lie.” and willuse Battle Breakerbefore a short cutscene, after which he’lluse Morning Starsto drop attacks all over the arena.

At80 percent health, he’ll say “We’re far from finished!” anduse Doubling to create three shadesthat will attack from the side of the arena, quickly followed by Dual Blows, sobe prepared to moveout of the way of both attacks.

Later, he’lluse Doubling again, but it will create one shade that will copy his next attack, The Thrill. The first time he uses this, be prepared as you’reabout to get hit by The Thrill twice in a row.

Stand where the towers form, ensuring you stand in them in the order they appeared and wait until the attack has landed before moving to the other.

Gulool Ja Ja will start to use Doubling for a new use from this point onwards, after casting Doubling,he’ll use Coiled Strike followed quickly by his shade’s Steeled Strike, so stay on your toes andkeep moving out of the way.

As the battle progresses, Coiled Strike will be followed by two Steeled Strikes, one by the Shade, and one by Gulool Ja Ja himself, so be aware of where to stand for the blades, then move for two cross AoEs in a row.

At about 25 percent health remaining, he will say “You really are formidable.” andsummon three Shades by using Doubling. Those Shades in turn will use Doubling to createsix shades in total.

He’ll then useCoiled Strikewhile the three Shades on the outside of the arena will attack directly in front of where they are facing using Glory Blaze (sodon’t stand where they’re looking).

The final three Shades will castSteeled Strike, followed by The Thrill twice, after which Gulool Ja Ja will also cast The Thrill. Be prepared tomove between the towers in the order they appear.

Standing in the tower for Gulool Ja Ja’s The Thrill will prompt a QTEwhere you have to tap the button rapidly to push back. Successfully completing this will end the battle and lead into a cutscene.

If you don’t stand in the tower for The Thrill, Gulool Ja Ja will keep casting it and regardless of whether you get his heath down as low as it will go, the battle will not end.
