While playingHonkai: Star Rail, you first learn about Aventurine quite early in the Trailblaze Continuance of Belobog. However, you don’t get to meet him until you reach the main quest of Penacony. Even if you haven’t met him, you might still go against the Aventurine boss in Memory of Chaos or a random event.
This boss features some unique mechanics you’ll never see anywhere else since it perfectly illustrates Aventurine’s personality. If you want to have a chance at beating him, you’ll have to learn a few mechanics and keep certain things in mind.
Aventurine Of Stratagems Attack Pattern
Being an elite boss, Aventurine Of Stratagems hashigher Imaginary RES and control debuff RES, and he’s also one of the few bosses that need you to learn the exact attack pattern if you want to beat him. He only has two phases, and here are all the attacks you’ll see in them:
Phase One
Time For A Bet
This is the main attack from Aventurine that you must be careful of during the first phase. He forces one of your allies to enter a special state as he spawns two die on the field. Whenever the ally attacks the die, they get a random number given to them.
If you attack multiple die in a single attack, the numbers you receive get added up. When Aventurine gets his next turn,if the ally has a lower number than him, they receive massive damage, while having a higher number activates their Ultimate.
Attacks allies randomly and deals some Imaginary DMG.
Points Fountain
Attacks every ally on the field,dealing little damagebut taking away some of their Energy.
Phase Two
Big Spenders' Mad Party
The second phase shares most attacks with the first one, except the main attack gets a bit of a buff. Instead of including just one ally to the special state, Aventurine gets them all there,which means that you have to win the gamble on each one.
Apart from dealing massive Imaginary DMG, Aventurine also has an almostguaranteed chance of Imprisoning the targetif they lose the gamble against him.
Your allies also get a damage boost or a damage taken increaseif they win or lose the gamblerespectively.

Best Characters To Use Against Aventurine Of Stratagems
As with every other enemy in Honkai: Star Rail, Aventurine also has certain weaknesses that you’ll always see on him.These weaknesses are Physical, Ice, and Lightning. Based on how the overall boss fight goes, here are some of the characters that will give you the most value in it:
Reason
Acheron
Of course, the character who got released in the same update as the Aventurine boss gets the most value in this battle since she canattack multiple die with her Skill while also getting her Ultimatewhen she wins the gamble, which is the main part of her kit.
Argenti
Argenti is another character who depends on his Ultimate for most of the damage and canalso attack all enemies on the field with his Skill, making him perfect for this fight.
Jingliu
Whenever Jingliu uses her Ultimate, she can get a stack that lets her either get to the buffed state faster or stay in it for longer.Being able to trigger two Ultimates if you time it correctlymakes her one of the best units for this fight.
Clara
If you don’t have Argenti on your account, Clara can be a decent DPS to use for this fightdue to her Physical combat type and the AoE aspect of her Skill.
Serval
If you’ve recently started playing Honkai: Star Rail, there’s a high chance that you don’t have any good five-star DPS units for this fight. However, Serval can help you get past it sinceshe has the right combat type and AoE abilities.
