Animals as small as a badger can kill you with two hits inPax Deiif you’re not careful. At the beginning of the game, you are pretty vulnerable with just your thin shirt on. Armor is crucial before you even think about traveling through the woods or far from home.
Just like with most MMO sandboxes, there are levels to crafting that you have to grind through. There are different levels of armor — some weaker, some stronger. This guide compiles everything you need to know about getting armor and which crafting benches and materials are required.

How To Craft Armor
The first thing you will need is a Basic Carpenters Workbench. With this workbench, you will be able to craftBasic Tailoring Tools, Basic Leatherworking Tools, and Basic Blacksmithing Tools. These tools are needed for making armor.
Basic Tailoring Tools allow you to craft the Simple Tailoring Table in Crafting while using your Construction Hammer. TheTailoring Table lets you craft cloth armorthat ranges from two to four Slash and Blunt protection.
Construction Hammer:
Here’s some help with the most difficult materials: Bone Fragments can be collected by killing animals, Flax can be found on mountaintops, and Coarse Linen String requires a Spinning Wheel.
Basic Leatherworking Tools allow you to craft the Simple Leatherworking Table under Crafting while using the Construction Hammer. TheLeatherworking Table allows you to craft armor that is better than cloth armor, ranging from 4-10 damage protection for each clothing item.
The Simple Leatherworking Table is also crucial for producing animal hides into useful items.
Flint can be found near water.
Basic Blacksmithing Tools allow you to craft the Basic Blacksmith Workbench with your Construction Hammer. TheBasic Blacksmith Workbench allows you to craft more “tools"needed to create better crafting tables.With this workbench, you can craft Basic Armor Smithing Tools, which will be your end goal out of all of these crafting benches.
Iron materials require a Stone Anvil and a Basic Furnace.
You can craft Basic Armor Smithing Tools from the Basic Blacksmith Workbench by using four Iron Bars, five Iron Nails, and two Short Wood Stock.These Armor Smithing tools then allow you to craft the Basic Armorer Workbench, providing even better armor than the last workbench did.
To unlock better armor,ensure to upgrade your skill levelfor that workbench. Leatherworking, Armor Smithing, and Tailoring are three different skills that need leveling.
Types Of Armor
you may layer certain types of clothing with your armor. When you press TAB and select Equipment, you should see multiple slots for your chest, as an example.Clan Tabard can be worn overyour armor in order to represent your Clan.
Leg warmers can also be worn overyour armor pants for extra protection. You cannot mix and match any clothing item. Only certain items can go in each slot.
Do you need some specific items? Pins and Needles can be crafted with Simple Tailoring Table; Linen String is crafted with a Spinning Wheel; and Linen Cloth is crafted with a Simple Loom.
Rawhide is crafted using Large Animal Hide at a Simple Tanning Rack and Coarse Leather Band is crafted with the Simple Leatherworking Table using Rawhide.
4 Iron Wire
Iron Wire is crafted using Iron Ingot at a Stone Anvil.
Founders Armor
If you have bought theArtisan Founder’s Pack upgradeto the game, you automaticallyunlock the Founder Crafting Table. This crafting table has some clothing you may’t get anywhere else. The Founder’s clothing items provide a bit of protection against attacks, but of course will not be better than iron armor and greater.
