TheRivals Week eventis making its return toPokemon Gothis year, a limited-time event centered around the Pokemon Go Battle League, the PvP component of the game. In addition to offering several bonuses and features following this theme, there will also be aGo Battle Weekendhosted during this event window.
Despite the name of this event, Rivals Week will be taking place over the course of only six days, starting onSaturday, June 10, 2025, at 10am local time, and ending on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 8pm local time.Below you may find all the details about this year’s Rivals Week, in addition to information on the Go Battle Weekend taking place as well!
Rivals Week Bonuses
For the Rivals Week Event, there will bethree different bonusesthat all players will benefit from during the event window, each having to do with a different aspect of Pokemon Go.
First, during this event, each time youspin a Photo Disc from a Pokemon Gym, you will receive ten times the XP.With the large multiplier for this bonus, make sure you are visiting and spinning as many Pokemon Gym Photo Discs as possible, providing you with tons of XP.
To earn even more XP from spinning Pokemon Gym Photo Discs, use theLucky Eggitem beforehand.
This willdouble any XP that you earn for 30 minutesfollowing the use of this item.
The second event bonus for Rivals Week will help to increase the amount of Pokemon Candy you earn during this event. For this bonus,each time you catch a Pokemon, you will receive double the Candycompared to the amount that is typically awarded.
Lastly, during this event you will haveincreased chances of encountering the Shiny variants of specific event-themed Pokemon.This includes:
Make sure to take advantage of this bonus, as some of these Pokemon are relatively rare in Pokemon Go, especially their Shiny forms.
Rivals Week Wild Encounter Pokemon
During this six-day event, you can expect to see achange in the Pokemon regularly appearing in the wild.This includes eight different event-themed Pokemon, all provided for you below.

Rivals Week Raid Pokemon

Field Research Task Encounters
Make sure to obtain and complete differentEvent Field Research Tasksduring Rivals Week, acquired by visiting and spinning different PokeStops. Certain Event Field Research Tasks willreward you with Pokemon encounters,giving you the opportunity to catch one of the following seven event-themed Pokemon.
Timed Research
There will also beTimed Researchthat you can complete within the time frame of this year’s Rivals Week, free to all players who log in and play during this event. Completing the different tasks that make up this Timed Research will reward you withevent-themed Pokemon encounters, XP, Rare Candy, andFast TMs.
Make sure tocomplete this Timed Research before the end of this event,as you will no longer be able to once Rivals Week has concluded.
Go Battle Weekend Event
There will also be atwo-day Go Battle Weekend Eventhosted during Rivals Week, taking place fromSaturday, May 4, at 12am local time, to Sunday, May 5, at 11:59 pm local time.During this Go Battle Weekend there will be different limited-time bonuses and features available, all included for you below.

Free Timed Research
First, all players will be granted access to thefree Go Battle Weekend Timed Research upon logging into Pokemon Go during this two-day event.Completing this Timed Research will provide you with different in-game rewards, including theHala-Style Sandals avatar item.
Paid Timed Research
Additionally, you will be able to purchase this event’s Paid Timed Research,costing $1.00 USDat the Pokemon Go in-game shop. Completing the tasks for this Timed Research will reward you withone Star Piece, Star Dust,three Rare Candies, and three Rare Candy XL.
Pokemon Showcases
There will also beevent-themed Pokemon Showcasesappearing at select PokeStops during this Go Battle Weekend, allowing you to enter specific Pokemon featured throughout this event. Make sure to participate in these Pokemon Showcases and enter Pokemon that score you the most points, giving you a great opportunity to earn various in-game rewards.
The Pokemon that will be featured in these Pokemon Showcases have not been revealed, but you can expect them to include different event-themed Pokemon featured during Rivals Week this year.
For this reason, make sure tohold onto any event-themed Pokemon that are XXL,or relatively large, as these will earn you the most points in these Pokemon Showcases.
