Microcosm is the first-ever Kinetic Trace Rifle inDestiny 2,introduced with the release of The Final Shape. It has one of the lengthiest Exotic Quests in the game, which requires you to finish the campaign and do some small quests forMicah-10 in The Lost City.
It fires a beam of Kinetic Energy that deals bonus damage to shields. Other than that, final blows with the weapon give Super energy. Once the Super expires, it gains bonus damage. It is also very efficient at dealing with Torments, Subjugators, and even has decent boss DPS if you are on Cenotaph Mask or doing the Lucky Pants swaps.

How To Complete The First Three Convalescence Quests
The first thing that you must do is to complete The Final Shape campaign. There is no need todo the 12-man Excisionmission. As long as you have defeatedThe Witness in Iconoclasm, you should be good to go. Once you are done, your next step is tocomplete the Queens, Part Iadventure, which is also a part of theErgo Sum quest. Completing it will unlock theConvalescence questlineat Micah-10. These are:
The first three are fairly simple. You will be introduced toLost Ghosts,Cyst Trials, and theOverthrowactivity. As long as you are following the waypoints, you should have no trouble completing the initial three Convalescence quests. As a reward for your efforts, each completed mission will reward you witha Deepsight Resonance Pattern of a random weaponfrom The Pale Heart.

Convalescence: Rootbound
You will first need tofind a Lost Ghost. It is insideThe Forgotten Deepand should be marked on your map. Once you are done, return to Micah-10 and interact with the fracture in the area.
Convalescence: Underbrush
For this one, you will need tofind a Flickering Blessingmod. You can acquire these mods by opening different chests across The Pale Heart. Once you have found one, open up the Traveler’s Blessings menuand slot it in. Next, return to Micah-10 again to investigate another fracture.
you may equip aWombo Detector on your Ghostto easily find Destination Chests on The Pale Heart. Alternatively, you can also completeOverthrow or Lost Sectorsfor a chance at getting these mods.
Convalescence: Greenery
You will begin byopening Overthrow chestsacross The Pale Heart — each one will grant 15-30 percent progress. Once you are done, complete the Ghost Eventby protecting it from nearby enemies. Lastly, do theSword Dance Cystin The Landing.
How To Complete Convalescence: Budding
Convalescence: Budding, on the other hand, deals withCooperative Focus missions. These are essentially reruns of different campaign missions with added modifiers. Since these are Cooperative Focused, you must have a pre-made fireteam to complete them —they cannot be done solo.
Each mission also features some unique mechanicsthat you will have to deal with as a team. Here is a brief overview of these mechanics:
Glyphtouched
One player in the team randomly becomes Glyphtouched. The chosen player cannot see the symbols and the non-Glyphtouched players must relay the information.
Berserker
Throughout the mission, Berserkers from Scourge of the Past will spawn periodically. Once you get closer, they will generate a force-field that will slow you down while also revealing its two weakspots. You must destroy them simultaneously to progress.
Fracture
The Witness will inflict the Fracture debuff on a random player. Once it reaches around seven stacks, it will impair your mobility. If you let it hit 10 stacks, it will instantly kill you. To prevent it, make sure to continue to cycle it among the fireteam.
Ascent
The first mission that you will need to do is Ascent. This is where you will come across Berserkers for the first time. After you reach the snowy section, you will need to deal with the Fracture debuff. We recommendpassing it around seven stacksso that you do not hinder anyone’s mobility.
Just before the final boss, you will need to coordinate with the person who is Glyphtouched to see where the symbols need to be dunked. After that, play the fight as normal and you should be good.
Dissent
This mission requires you tosearch for Zavala with the help of Veiled statuesscattered throughout the mission. There is not a lot that changes other than the unique mechanics that we have detailed. We also recommend moving as a team while in the temple room, as the wizards can be very annoying to deal with since you are under-light.
Iconoclasm
This is the only mission thatdoes not feature the Fracturemechanic. You will need to defeat The Witness in this mission, but it is a bit more complicated than the normal one.
For instance, the Glyphtouched person will not be able to head downstairs in the middle section and must stay alive while clearing enemies. Throughout the mission, you will find your path blocked by Taken barriers. To remove these, you will need tokill Berserkers as a team and shoot two pyramid crystalssimultaneously.
Lastly, you will no longer be able to grab Aegis alone as it is guarded by a Berserker, so you will need to work on it as a team.
Once you have completed all three missions, return to Micah-10 at the Pale Heartto get Microcosm.
