Fallout 76’sSkyline Valley update features the story of the Stolz family, who you’ll meet during The Calm Before quest. The Skyline Valley is unlike any other area in Appalachia thus far, with a terrifying lightning storm crackling in the dark red sky. The Stolz family is equally volatile, with danger and deception lurking in the dark.
For now, you should meet the major characters and get acclimated with your base of operations. Before you’re able to fully sink your teeth into Fallout 76’s Skyline Valley update, you’ll need to get a lay of the land. Get to know your main contact points and learn more about the new Lost faction in The Calm Before.
How To Start The Calm Before
Once youcomplete the Into Lands Unknown quest,The Calm Before will immediately begin.
Enter the Manor’s front door, but be prepared when you load into the interior.
As soon as you enter the manor, you’ll encounter a horde of Lost enemies waiting for you, including a miniboss:the Lost Champion.
The Lost Champion is suited in modified power armor with a large Gatling gun;keep cover between you and the Championwhile you whittle down its health anddefeat the other Lost.
Pop in and out of cover while rotating around the room,so the Lost Champion can’t get a clear line of sight on you to unload a storm of bullets.
Once you’ve defeated the Lost,head through the basement doorand downstairs to find anintercomnext to a destroyed wall.
How To Find Vault 63 In Dark Hallow Manor
Interact with the intercomand Hilda’s voice will come through – let her know you’ve arrived.
Unfortunately, Hilda can’t open the door, and you don’t have the clearance to open it, butshe has an idea to get you inside.
Find a severed Losthand on one of the bodies of the defeated Lostupstairs.It should be on the first body you find.
Head back downstairs to the room with the intercom anduse the severed Lost hand on the hand scanner.
Using this hand, the door to Vault 63 will unlock;head inside to meet Hilda and speak with her.
Once you’ve finished your talk with Hilda, progress through the door totalk to Hugo Stolz, Hilda’s father.
From here, take a moment tofind James Oberlin and retrieve a situation reportto bring back to Hugo.
