There are tons of possibilities when it comes to gameplay inThe Sims 4. Challenges are one of the best ways to explore the vast possibilities that Sims 4 has to offer, and there are endless different challenges that you may pick from. However, it’s pretty easy to get overwhelmed with how much work a challenge involves.
That’s where The Big Brother Challenge comes in. Instead of having to dictate every action your Sim takes, this challenge lets you play entirely hands-off. You’ll simply get to watch and enjoy as chaos unfolds for your Sims, as a winner rises to the top and the losers struggle.
What Is The Big Brother Challenge?
The Big Brother Challenge,created by Gizmoman49 on theMod The Sims Forums, is the Sims version of the popular Big Brother reality show. You’ll force eight Sims from all different backgrounds to live together, and whoever is the most successful in the house will be declared the winner.
After each week, thelowest-performing Sim in the house will be kicked outuntil you’re left with only one winner. How these Sims are kicked out depends on how well they complete the weekly task, which involves building skills and relationships.
You get to play as the Big Brother, who watches over the house and rewards (or punishes) the Sims in the household. Since this challenge mostlyinvolves letting Sims have complete free will, you’ll mainly be watching and enjoying the chaos that the household Sims bring to the game.
How To Start The Big Brother Challenge
To begin this challenge, you’ll need tocreate a full household of eight Sims. These Sims should be a wide variety of personalities and backgrounds to make the challenge more interesting. They can be any age, race, gender identity, or orientation you’d like. The most important part is to give them alarge variety of personalities,to create more interesting gameplay.
While you’re able to make any Sims you want, ensure to keep genders balanced in the household. There should be four girls and four guys in the house. This mimics the rules of the real Big Brother.
Next, you’ll want to put this family inside the Big Brother house. This house is completely up to you how you’d like to build it. It can be a large mansion or a tiny shack that barely has enough room for everyone. The only things that need to be available for everyone aresomewhere to sleep, at least one bathroom, and a kitchenfor them to make food.
However, there are some items that are not allowed in the household because the Sims arenot allowed to have contact with the outsideworld. This includes:
There should also be no way for the Sims to leave the household, so once everyone is inside the house, you need tolock any doors that lead outsideso they can’t get out. you’re able to do this by clicking on a door, choosingLock,and then choosingEveryone. Once everyone is inside and the doors are locked, it’s time to begin the challenge.
Without fire alarms, it’s possible that Sims could die from fires in the house. If a Sim dies during the challenge, don’t revive them. Just make a new Sim to take their place in the household and continue the challenge.
Week One: Painting
It’s the first week in the Big Brother household, and it’s time to begin the first challenge. For the first week,set up eight easels anywhereyou’d like in the house. Then, it’s simply a matter of letting the contestants run free for a week in-game and see who uses the easels to up their Creativity skill.
The winner for the week will be the Sim with the highest Creativity skill at the end of the week. The loser will be the one with the lowest Creativity skill level. This Sim will be kicked out of the household, and won’t participate in the challenge anymore. You can delete this Sim in CAS, or manage the household and move them to a new lot.
Remember thatyou are not able to control any Sims actionsfor the gameplay. It is entirely up to them to build up their creativity skill using the easel, so it’s random who wins and who loses. Certain traits will benefit Sims during the challenges, but won’t guarantee they are safe.
Week Two: Chess
Similar to the previous week, the contestants will have one week tobuild up their Logic skill level using chess boardsthat will replace the easels. The Sim with the highest Logic skill by the end of the week is the winner of the week, while the lowest skill level will be kicked out of the household.
Sims with traits like Genius will have an easier time this week, while others might struggle a bit more. However, due to the lack of other methods of entertainment for your Sims, many of them will flock to the chess boards anyway.
Week Three: Social
Week three focuses on your Simsbuilding up their relationships with the other Sims in the household. Buy them game tables, bars, or any other fun objects you can think of, so long as they don’t have any TVs or radios. This will allow the remaining Sims in the house to spend more time together and build up relationships.
At the end of the week, the Sim with the highest relationships with the most Sims will be the winner. The loser will be the Sim with the lowest relationship levels with the least amount of Sims. Kick them out of the house for good.
Because your Sims have likely been chatting with other members of the Big Brother household, take note of what their relationship levels with the other contestants are before this week. This way, the competition is still fair and Sims who are already friends don’t have an advantage.
Week Four: Athletic
Now it’s time for the house to get fit. Very similar to previous weeks, the winner for this week’s challenge is theSim who gets the highest level of Fitness skill. The loser will be the one with the lowest Fitness level and will be removed from the house entirely.
In order to let the Sims train, replace all the game tables and bars from last week with enough exercise equipment for everybody. It doesn’t matter which workout gear you choose, so long as it builds the Fitness skill. Remember, you’re still not allowed to choose any of the actions for the Sims in the house, so it’s entirely up to them to work out enough time to build the skill.
Week Five: Music
For the fifth week, the Big Brother house will be tasked with building their music skills. Luckily, there’s a variety of instruments to choose from for your Sims to build their skills. You can fill the house withpianos, violins, guitars, or even pipe organsif you have the Vampires game pack.
Since your Sims will likely all choose different instruments, the winner will be the Sim with the highest skill level in their chosen instrument. If this Sim’s skill level in guitar is higher than another’s in piano, they beat that Sim. The loser will, of course, be the Sim with the lowest skill level in any instrument in the house, and they’ll be kicked out.
Week Six: Outside The House
The Big Brother household is finally being freed from the confines of the household. For this week, your remaining three Sims will be able to travel outside the house once a day. It doesn’t matter where you decide to go, buttake all three Sims out and travel to any public lotonce a day for the entire week.
The goal for this week is tomake friends outside of the household. Similar to Social Week, the contestant with the highest relationship level with Sims outside of the house will be the winner. However, you are not able to invite any outside Sims back to the household. They can only interact on public lots.
This includes texting or calling other Sims over their cell phones. Make sure none of your Sims are contacting their new friends on their phones at any point during the week, since they can only build relationships on public lots for week six.
Week Seven: Grand Finale
It’s now down to the final two Sims. This week is a mad dash to get the most skill points, the highest relationships, and a high level in their career. Each of the two Sims is able to get a job, andthe winner will be the Sim who is the highest level in their careerby the end of the week.
You can fill up the house with as many skill objects as you’d like this week, and the Sims in the Big Brother household are free to leave the house at any time.Give them TVs, computers, bars, and anything they need to succeed at their new jobs. The skills will be useful for climbing their career ladder, depending on which career they’ve chosen. This will help them become the winner.
Once the week is over, check which remaining Sim is the highest in their career. This will be the winner of The Big Brother Challenge. This Sim has proven themselves the best, so make them a millionaire, give them a huge mansion, or whatever you’d like to reward them.
