How To Start Double-Crossed Wires

Talk to Oberlin,who admits to some secrets he’s kept from you thus far, includinghis affiliation with the US Army.

Confronting Hugo about Oberlin in Fallout 76.

One of his men, Daniel, hasn’t returned, so Oberlin needs you tohead out into the field to find Daniel.

Head over toHigh Knob Lookout,which is marked on your map.

When you arrive, fight the gang of Blood Eagles guarding the outside to gain access to the hideout.

Enter theBlood Eagle hideoutthrough the cellar door and continue into the next area.

The Double-Crossed Wires quest Rewards in Fallout 76.

As you search for Daniel in the hideout, fight off the Blood Eagles inside,including a Blood Eagle Executioner.

The Executioner is wearingPower Armor,so be careful.

Once you defeat the Blood Eagle Executioner, loot theHigh Knob Basement Keyfrom their body and use it to unlock the door to the generator room.

Inside the generator room, you’ll find Daniel’s body, along withDaniel’s Holotape and Oberlin’s Report.

Listen to Daniel’s Holotapeto hear that he’s been working for Hugo this whole time, andHugo is pretending that the US Army is still sending James missions, but it’s Hugo behind the scenes.

Return to Vault 63 and prepare to confront Hugo with the truth.

What To Do About Hugo’s Deception

When you arrive back at Vault 63, Hugo will be sitting at his desk like usual.

Confronting Hugo is entirely optional,and you can ignore this part and report back to Oberlin directly if you don’t want to tell him the truth.

Hugo will also attempt to convince you to keep the charade going – for James' sake – as Hugo believes Oberlin would be without a purpose if he found out the truth.
