Additionally, one of the game’s optional bosses, Scuttling Sludge Steamroller, resides in this area. This boss uses a paint roller as a weapon, but instead of paint, it produces gunk. Where To Find Scuttling Sludge Steamroller

Finding this boss is relatively easy compared to other optional bosses.Start from the Shipping Portfast travel point in Flotsam Vale. Then,head southalong the pier, and after a short distance, you’llsee a circular area to the west.

This area is surrounded by wooden platforms arranged in a circle. Scuttling Sludge Steamroller will be waiting for you on the ground in this area.

Pre-Fight Preparations

If you’ve defeated the other main story bosses and optional bosses up to this point in the game, it means you’ve reached a good level.Defeating the Ceviche Sisters, another main story boss nearby could be beneficial for finding extra microplastics.

Being around level 25should allow you to defeat this boss without too much difficulty, so adjust your ATK or MSG stats between 10 and 15 depending on your build. Similarly,aim for a total of around 15 for your VIT and RESstats to increase your survivability.

It swings its paint rollerhorizontally three times, then vertically slams it onto the ground to create gunk.

Gunk Smash

(Crushing Attack)It jumps into the air and lands whilestriking with the paint roller,creating gunk upon impact.

It rapidly advances towards you by dragging its paint roller along the ground. As it approaches you with the paint roller on the ground, itleaves a trail of gunk behind.

While battling this boss,striking it from the part where it carries its shield will be futile, so move around it and attack it from other points. As you can see from its attack patterns,this boss doesn’t have many attacks, so its moves become more readable.

Roller Swing is an attack that is extremely easy to parry. Especially after swinging the paint roller three times,parrying it on the final vertical strikebecomes even easier.

What sets this boss apart is that it leaves a considerable amount of gunk on the ground, especially during the Rolling & Gunking attack.You need to be careful of the gunk while fighting it, or you may find yourself in a difficult situation without realizing how your health is draining;if you can lure the boss into gunk-free areas as possible on the battlefield, you’ll have an easier time.

When you defeat this boss, you’ll earn7,000 microplastics and 16 Umami Crystals,and you’ll acquire the Zooplankton stowaway. To equip this stowaway, you’ll need 26 MSG, and once you equip it, you’ll also regenerate some Umami when taking damage, making it adecent stowaway for magic users.
