The world ofWuthering Wavescontains various regions, each having its unique mechanics and environment. Some of these regions feature special conditions that initially make it difficult to explore them. However, these conditions can be cleared by embarking on the respective exploration quests for these regions.
While exploring the Whining Aix’s Mire area, you might find an inaccessible location due to heavy storms. To clear this storm, you’ll have to beat the Stygian Lacrimosa quest and defeat all the mud enemies in the process.
Where To Find Jiuyue’s Backpack
The quest initially starts with quite a bit of dialogue, but once you get past it, you’ll be asked to retrieve Jiuyue’s backpack from an area filled with mud. At this point, the game might confuse you as italreadyshows the tutorialof how you can remove the mud, but you’re not able to do that just yet.
You simply have to reach the yellow circle on the minimap and you’ll find the backpack lying in the open. If youdon’t get an interact button on this when you get close, try going a little far away and coming back.
How To Beat Mud Enemies
Once you recover the backpack, you’ll acquire a new utility called the Ultrasonic Pulse Chip. You can equip it by going through your utility menu, andit can launch a giant Water Vortex in the direction you’re aiming. This vortex clears all the mud in its path, which is essential for defeating the enemies in it.
Whenever an enemy is in the mud, they get a huge shield, which makes them impossible to defeat. However, if you hit them with a vortex, themud beneath them gets cleared and they get launched into the sky, removing their shield.
After some more dialogue, you’ll be tasked to activate up to three suppressors to calm the storm down. To do this, you have to activate these suppressors andremove all the mud that spawns while it progresses. There will be consistent waves of enemies and mud during this, and thesuppressor stops progressing whenever there’s either in its radius.
For the second and third suppressors, you’ll find some Swamp Vortex on the field. These will knock you back and deal some damage if you hit them. However, if you hit these vortexes with a Water Vortex,they explode and clear all the mud in the surrounding area.
This explosion also deals damage to your characters, so it’srecommended to stay a bit faras you aim at them.
The general location of the Swamp Vortex is the same area where the mud and enemies spawn, so you cansimply get to the opposite location and prepare your utility.
How To Solve The Mural Puzzle
Once you get past the second suppressor, you’ll stumble upon a broken mural puzzle with four of its pieces missing. These pieces will be scattered on the ground, and you’ll have touse the Levitator utilityto pick them up and place them in. Here’s how you need to place these pieces:
As you solve the mural and beat the third suppressor,you’ll then have to defeat the Mourning Aix boss. After being defeated, it will fly away, and you’ll have to use some basic attacks and bombarding skills to defeat it again. Make sure to use your skill in an open area since the rockets end up hitting the walls otherwise.
