You will have to face several bosses as you continue your main story gameplay inShin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance.The Glasya-Labolas is the first boss you will encounter if you choose the newly added Vengeance route. For this battle, Hiromine and Yuzuru will join you as guests, and you can utilize their moves to fight the tough opponent in front of you.
The combat in the game is turn-based, so during every turn, you have to strategize about your moves. You also need to look out for a boss' resistances take it down with ease.
Glasya-Labolas Stats
You will find yourself in a deserted area that seems like an apocalypse has just hit it. In an effort to return back to your world, as you make your way to Tokyo Tower, you will encounter alevel eight Glasya-Labolaswith the following stats.
We recommend you to take on the boss when you are around level 6-8, however, if your difficulty setting is high, you might need to level up more.

Glasya-Labolas Resistances
Every demon in Shin Megami Tensei 5 has certain resistances, and you have toexploit their weaknessesfor easy victory. The Glasya-Labolas is weak to Electric damage which means you need to cast the Zio skill repeatedly to damage it significantly. Do not use Force or Dark skills as the boss will completely block these attacks. The resistances chart of the boss is shown below.
you may also use essence fusion to get the skills you need on your demons, so focus on getting Electric, debuffing, or healing skills. Avoid Force and Dark damage skills entirely for this battle.
Block
Glasya-Labolas Attacks
The Glasya-Labolas hasonly one physical attack skillfor dealing damage, but do not let your guard down as it’s pretty punishing. Its Dustoma skill is tricky, and it can give you a disadvantage while facing it with the Mirage status condition.
Bouncing Claws +3
The attack can inflict a lot of damage to you or your ally, as the boss will hit you with weak physical damage 2-3 times.
Dustoma +1
The skill will inflict Mirage on one ally, it will cause them to miss a few hits while attacking.
How To Beat Glasya-Labolas
The Glasya-Labolas is a beast demon that appears intimidating, and beating it could be a challenge if you do not tackle its heavily damaging skills. The boss will havetwo actions every turn,so brace yourself for its skills once you end your turn.
For your first turn, we recommend youapply some debuffs to Glasya-Labolasthat will last for three turns. Start off by using your Protagonist’s Tarunda skill, which will lower the boss' attack. you may use Yuzuru’s Rakunda skill to lower its defense.
On Hiromine’s turn, it’s time to attack, since she doesn’t know any debuffing skill.Attack with Zio skillsince the enemy is weak to Electric damage. If your equipped demon has a support skill, you might want to do that to make yourself more formidable. If your Magatushi is full, you can use the Omagatoki: Critical to increase the critical rate of all allies for a single turn.
Now it’s time to get offensive, souse Zio skill with your Protagonist and Hiromine. We recommend you useGram Slice +2 skillfor damage by Yuzuru, as you might inflict a few critical hits on the opponent. If any of your demons know Poisma, you can inflict poison on the enemy for your advantage.
you’re able to purchase Elec Shards from Cadaver’s Hollow shop for 200 Macca. The item can inflict weak Electric attack to all enemies on the field.
When it’s Glaslya-Labolas turn,it will do a Bouncing Claws +3attack that deals great physical damage to you. It might inflict you with Mirage with Dustoma, which might lead to you missing a few attacks. It’s best to just guard against the enemy’s next attack when you are inflicted by the Mirage condition.
The Glasya-Labolas is immune to Mirage, so you cannot inflict any status condition on it if you use Dustoma.
Once the enemy recovers from all the debuffs and conditions, it’s time to repeat the strategy and use debuffing skills to make it vulnerable before you go offensive on the next turn. You have to repeat these steps till you take down Glasya-Labolas. Watch out for your HP and make sure you are not too low on it. You may also want touse the Dia skill to recover itif a demon in your party has learned it.
Recommended Party
We recommend you toadd Pixie to your teamconsidering its support potential. The Dia skill can heal significantly and can save you from a bind during battle. Furthermore, if you want to cure Mirage, you can usePixie’s Patra skill that cures status ailments.
If you want an additional demon that knows the Zio skill, you should include Gremlin in your party. We also suggest you to use Slime, since it has the capability to inflict various status conditions on an enemy, so you shoulduse its Poisma skill to poison Glasya-Labolas.
