In real life, castles have more than one floor. This holds true forV Risingas well, although this hasn’t always been the case. When the game first launched in early access, castles were flat and large. Thankfully, we can now add multiple floors to our grand vampiric castles!

Adding more floors to your castle in V Rising is pretty simple, but if you’ve never done it before, you may be unsure of what to do. In addition to learning how to add a second floor, we will also take a look at how many floors you may have in total.

How To Add A Second Floor

Second floors can be added to your castle once you unlock the ability toplace stone walls and floors. To actually create a second floor, you will need toplace down a staircase.Thankfully, staircases unlock pretty early into the game, allowing you to add more floors without waiting too long.

From the ‘Castle’ tab of the construction menu, head over to the ‘Stairs’ section. There arefour main types, which you can find below.

v rising stair options

2x1 stairs that ascend straight up

Stairs that take up 3 tiles in an L Shape

L-Shaped Right Stairs

18x Stone Brick

Stairs that take up 3 tiles in a mirrored L Shape

24x Stone Brick

2x2 stairs (extra wide) that ascend straight up

When you have enough stone bricks, select the staircase you want and simply place it down! You can place theminside a finished room or within a room that is still under construction.

In a finished room, the stairs will protrude out onto the roof, but this willnot impact the roof of the room below. From the second layer, you will initially just see the top of the stair platform, along with the roof for the room below.

To build here, you just need toplace foundation tiles down. The room above functions just like rooms on the ground floor; you need acompleted foundation and walls to close in the area before aroof is generated.

How Many Floors Can You Add?

Just how high can your castle stretch into the sky? By default, you’re able to have three floors in your castle.Prior to starting a game though, this number can be increased from the advanced settings menu.

In the fourth tab (labeled ‘Building’), you can see’Castle Height Limit'.This can beincreased to a maximum of six floors. When hovering over this setting, you will see a message stating thathigher values may affect performance. If you don’t have the most powerful computer, we suggest keeping this at three floors.
