Monthly updates and seasonal changes keepLeague of Legendsfeeling new and fresh. This is especially true given the new items that may emerge, some of which can alter entire roles within the game. One example is the World Atlas, the Support item introduced at the beginning of Season 14.
This item changes how the Support gold quest functions, combining previous popular options into a single item. In this guide, learn more about questing for gold as a Support with World Atlas, and about the different final item options for World Atlas and which champions benefit the most from each variant.
What Is World Atlas?
Unlike other roles in the game that gain their initial gold by farming minion waves or jungle monsters,Supports gain their gold income through their Support item.
In Season 13, Supports could choose from a variety of items that would provide a gold quest. For some of these items, Spellthief’s Edge, Supports could only earn gold by hitting a champion with an attack or ability while the item had a charge. Other Support Items, like Relic Shield, could only provide gold and quest progression when last-hitting a minion while the item had a charge.
However, in Season 14, World Atlas blends these two quests together,allowing Supports to earn gold and quest progression by hitting both champions and minions.
Once you reach 500 out of 1,000 on your Support quest,World Atlas will upgrade into a new item.
What Does World Atlas Build Into?
The first upgrade for World Atlas transforms this item intoRunic Compass. This item provides greater buffs than its initial form,however, it will also have the active effect of warding.This means that you can place additional wards with Runic Compass,up to three at a time.
Runic Compass wards work like Stealth Wards, meaning they are overall invisible. Control Wards and Oracle Lens can reveal your Runic Compass wards.Scryer’s Bloom can also reveal your ward if your ward is in its line of impact.
Once you reach 1,000 out of 1,000 with Runic Compass,it will upgrade one final time into Bounty of Worlds.
Bounty Of Worlds And The Final Support Items It Can Transform Into
Bounty of Worlds is an important Support item. However, it isnot one that you will keep for long. As you complete your quest by using your charges to attack enemies, you will gain more gold and progression. Once you finish your quest with Runic Compass,you will receive a Bounty of Worlds automatically in its place.
you may see how many charges you have on your Support item by looking at the blue orbs surrounding your champion model or by looking at the champion HUD.
Bounty of Worldscan be transformed into any one of five final Support items. Unlike World Atlas and Runic Compass, which are the same for all players, each of these items presents a unique buff and effect.
This means that if you choose one of these items, such as Celestial Opposition, and your opponent chooses Bloodsong, you will receive different advantages and disadvantages. However, no matter what legendary item you choose to build into,you’ll still be able to use this item as a ward with up to four charges.
You will only be able to choose what your Bounty of Worlds transforms intowhile you are out of combat. Once you make your decision,it is permanent. Because of this, you’ll want to make sure youchoose carefullywhen picking the right item for your champion.
Although certain Support legendary items may do best on certain champions, you are free to build any of these on any champion you play, so long as you begin the game with World Atlas.

Bloodsong
Bloodsong is the perfect item for Support champions who feature a heavy focus onauto-attacking and AD damage. This is because this time causes your next attack after using an ability (within ten seconds) to dobonus damage.
When used against an enemy champion, it alsocauses them to take more damage for a short amount of time. Bloodsong is best built in high-action duos, when you and/or your ADC plan to deal large amounts of damage in a short amount of time. Most champions can be viable when paired with Bloodsong. However,this item truly shines when wielded by champions like Senna.
Celestial Opposition
Celestial Oppositionprovides a damage reduction buff, helping toreduce how much damage you’ll take for a short period of time. Of all the variants of Bounty of Worlds, Celestial Opposition is one of the less-picked options.
However, it can be extremely viable for a wide variety of champions. This includes those who tend to experience the effects of engaging and team fights more severely. Although, it can also behelpful for Support champions with a focus on engaging, as it can provide a cushion for damage until your team is able to follow up.
One of the best champions to build Celestial Opposition on is Pantheon.
Dream Maker
Of all the Support legendary item variants,Dream Maker is the only one with a strong focus on enchanters.
Whereas other items discussed in this guide seek to increase damage, reduce incoming damage, or boost other attack effects on yourself, Dream Makerfocuses on providing these effects to your teammates,with them taking reduced damage and dealing increased magic damage.
Dream Maker is best built on your typical enchanter supportsthat focus less on hard engaging and more on boosting their ADCs. This includes the likes of champions such asLulu, Seraphine, and Sona.
If you are playing any type of enchanter support, this is often a safe option if you are unsure what variant of Bounty of Worlds to build.
Solstice Sleigh
Solstice Sleigh is a legendary itemdesigned with Crowd Control in mind. When you Slow or Immobolize a champion,you’ll be able to heal and speed up yourself and a nearby teammate. When it comes to quick engagement and team fights, effects such as these can be invaluable.
This is because you’ll be able to engage in a fight while also providing a means to survive and escape the fight. As a result, when it comes to fighting in the bottom lane with an ADC that is less capable of absorbing damage,you’ll increase your chances of successful fights with your opponents.
Solstice Sleigh can be useful for any Support champion with a focus on Crowd Control. However, this item performs best on hard engagement champions,such as Rell and Rakan. This is also helpful in these situations as champions such as these two are often paired with ADCs focused more on high damage than high health, such as Xayah.
Zaz’Zak’s Realmspike
In a League of Legends season focused on the Void, it’s only right that at least one of the Support legendary items is rooted in the nothingness haunting much of Runeterra.
Zaz’Zak’s Realmspike is a unique item thatworks best with mage champions. It causes abilities to dealextra, scaling magic damage, whether used against enemy champions or monsters. When paired with other items emerging in Season 14, such as Stormsurge, it can create a strong Support champion that is often capable of dealing high damage while also protecting through other abilities.
Examples ofchampions that thrive when building Zaz’Zak’s Realmspike include Lux and Hwei.
