You explore a dimension filled with various creatures and puzzles in the lively world ofAnimal Well. In this Metroidvania adventure, you interact with your environment and the living beings that roam in them, to explore more of the vast and haunting world you’ve found yourself in.

As you enter more areas and uncover more spots on the map, you’ll find that there are obstructions and puzzles that block your way forward. You’ll need to use your creativity to get through them, or you may also need an item tucked away elsewhere. One of these items is the Animal Flute.

How To Unlock The Area With The Animal Flute

The Animal Flute isa key itemin Animal Well, and this is a tool thatcan be equipped and used anytime.

This item can be found inan area close to your initial spawn, but you will need to accomplish a task before you can get your hands on it.

Apart from key items hidden across the map, there are alsoSecret Eggs that are tucked away in chests hidden in various locations. You’ll need to find these eggs for the Animal Flute, because the flute will not be accessible until youdiscover eight Secret Eggs.

You can see how many Secret Eggs you’ve found byopening your inventory. The number of eggs found will be displayed in thelower left corner of the menu.

There are64 total eggsthat you can find in Animal Well. Some eggs are obtained bysolving puzzles. Other eggs are hidden insecret passageways in the walls.

If you’ve picked up a map, you can open it and use it tofind hidden paths in the walls. You may seegaps in the edges of rooms, signifying that there may be a path hidden there.

Where Is The Animal Flute Located?

The exact location of the Animal Flute is in a chest in an area next toa large room with a giant peacock,marked by the large egg on the map, and rows of shelves where discovered eggs end up.

Youwill not be able to access the locationof the chest with the animal flute inside until you unlock it.

When the area is accessible from the large egg room, go west and head all the way to thewest end of the hallway with colored eggs.

You’ll find the chest with the animal flute in the next area. If you seethree large sleeping Chinchillas, you’re in the right location.

Hop over the first sleeping Chinchillain order to get past it. You’ll need to hop onto the platform that the chest is on to reach it, and you canuse the steps to its leftin order to make the jump.

If you have one, you can alsouse your Bubble Wandin order to reach the platform.

How To Use The Animal Flute

The Animal Flute is an essential item forsolving several puzzles. This tool cancall out to animals, and it canwake dozing creatures upas well.

In order to use it, you can cycle through your tools until it is equipped. You can alsoopen up your menu to select itwhile pausing your game.

If you’re in a situation wherein you need time while selecting a tool to equip, you canopen up your inventory menu. Your game will pause, andcreatures will be unable to moveor approach you.

Pressing the tool key while it is equippedwill play the Animal Flute. You can change its direction byusing your directional keys or by turning your joystick.

Once your flute is pointed in one direction, there’s no need to keep pressing the directional button in order to keep it playing that note.

Holding your tool key with the flute equippedwill let the notes play longer. If you want a specific number of notes to play, you’ll need totap the tool key that a particular number of times.

How To Use The Animal Flute To Wake Up Or Call Animals

Some animals respond to the Animal Flute.Sleeping creatures will wake upwhen they hear this being played.

If you see sleeping Chinchillas,this is a puzzle where you’ll need to use your Animal Flutein order to wake them up.

The flute can also be used tocall out to creatures in the water. If you see splashes in the water, you may need to play your flute toinvite the creature to come out.

How To Use The Animal Flute For Secret Codes

Some areas may havearrows on the walls, along with a spiral icon. This is a code that you canplay on your Animal Flute.

You simply need tofollow the arrows. Follow the directions of the arrows using your joystick or your directional buttons,while playing a note for each arrow.

Some secret codes for the flute need to be used in acompletely different area from where you found the code. Keep a note of what the code is, then ensure to keep an eye out for anything in theenvironmentthat looks similar to the code.

Some secret codes cannot be seen without another tool. Make sure torevisit past areas in order to find codes you might have missedonce you have more tools in your arsenal.

How To Use The Animal Flute For Fast Travel

This is also essential forunlocking fast travel. If you see areas with astone structure and a sculpture of a flute, you can play your flute in order toactivate the area as a warp point. A large animal statue’s mouth will open in the room, and you canhop inside to get to the warp hub.

The warp hub is a station of sorts where you canteleport to and from various key warp pointson the world map. These key warp points are those with themouth of a large animal statue.

Even if you’ve already reached the area, you’re able to only use a key warp pointafter you’ve activated it with your flute. You can play anything on your flute in order to open the large animal statue’s mouth.

Below the warp hubis another area where a secret code can be found. This secret code is different from the ones you’re able to find on the walls because it ispresented in a creative way:

How To Unlock Key Warp Locations Using The Flute

To use the various warp points found in the hub, you’ll first need tounlock each elsewhere on the map. You can do this byplaying your flute at the flute shrines found near the animal headsused for warping.

The first thing you’ll need to do is tolocate where each warp point is on the map. Then, you’ll need toplay your flute in these areas.

After you’ve done this, you’ll be able to easilyget to any region of the map through the warp hub.

Crow Warp Location

The area where theCrow Warp Point can be found is beside the room where you obtain the Animal Flute. This is west of the Secret Egg room, which is marked by an image of a large white egg on the map.

Shark Warp Location

TheShark Warp Point can be found on the westregion of the map. This is in the upper left room from the location where you can find theBubble Wand.

Dog Warp Location

Thelocation of the Dog Warp Point can be found in the northwestsection of the map. This is above the rooms where roaming dogs can be found.

Bear Warp Location

The Bear Warp Point can be found in the northeast regionof the map. This is an area where the rooms are characterized by a green hue. Chinchillas and hedgehogs can also be found roaming around.

Frog Warp Location

The Frog Warp Point can be found in the southeast areaof the map. This side of the dimension is characterized by a deep indigo hue. You’ll find ghost rabbits and ghost mice floating about here.
