For every planet you liberate, the galaxy comes one step closer to experiencing true democracy and freedom. As Helldivers, this is your mission.
What Is A Defense Campaign?
In the simplest terms, you’ll be defending a planet liberated by Super Earth. Regardless if the threat is from theTerminids and Automatons, a planet can and will fall if not protected by the esteemed Helldivers that liberated it.
Defending planets creates theopportunity for new missionsand a race against the clock to defeat enemy forces from taking the planet.
Thankfully, these missions tend to beshorter, blitz-style operationsthat see Helldivers evacuating important personnel andwiping out threatsto democracy.
How To Defend Planets
To complete defense campaigns, Helldivers will need tocomplete missions and operationson planets that need assistance. There are two bars below planets at risk: one in a blue or silver color and the other in either red or yellow.
Thetop bar represents Helldiversprogress toward defending the planet while the bar on thebottom shows the enemy’s progresstowards taking the planet. You can monitor these progress bars as long as the campaign is active.
Thankfully, thedefense campaigns arenot solo efforts. As a team,all Helldivers contributetowards the campaign as long as theyparticipate and complete missionson relevant planets.
Tips For Completing Defense Campaigns
Play In A Squad
Even thebestsolo Helldiverscan’t defend an entire planeton their own. It’s much easier to take planets back when youwork with others, so join active missions orrecruit your friendsto undertake missions together.
Working togethermakes the missions go fasterand, more often than not,increases the rate of success.
Choose The Right Gear
Change out your gear between each mission.Blitz-style missions require more active stratagemsand gameplay whereasmissions to evacuate assets require big gunsand defensive tactics.
Make sure toswap out gear between missionsand select the right stratagems for each mission so that your operations are successful.
Coordinate To Win
Take a look at the map and see which planets are closer to reaching the goal.Rather than divide and conquer, the community as a whole needsto work together.
If one planet is closer to reaching the goal than another,help reach the finish linebefore jumping to another planet. If everyone works together, Helldivers canspread democracy much more efficiently!
