Hades 2discreetly ties most of its progression through resources found as you play the game. Since most players are enamored with the story and discovering new weapons, boons, and other upgrades, they don’t realize how important prioritizing resources is in Hades 2.
Some resources give you a big power boost by unlocking new incantations. However, the Garlic resource doesn’t provide a power boost. Instead, it adds a great improvement to your home in the Crossroads, which some players might want to prioritize. Here’s a guide on the best way to get Garlic and where to use it.

Where To Find Garlic
you’re able to onlyacquire Garlic by planting Garlic Cloves on your farm. To get these, you need tounlock theSilver Spadetool, so you can start digging up resources in your runs.
Each location spawns different resourceswhen you attempt to dig through the plots.Garlic Cloves only spawn in the City of Ephyra. To access this location, you need todisable the ward blocking off the path to the surfaceat the Crossroads.
Theward only unlocksafter you finish the Incantation, Permeation of Witching-Wards. After unlocking the ward, you may progress through the City of Ephyra and look for resources to dig.
You canrepeat this area multiple timesif you don’t have enough Garlic Cloves yet.
How To Plant Garlic Cloves
Once you have the Garlic Cloves,go to your farm plot and plant themat the Crossroads. At this point, you should have the farm plots unlocked, since unlocking the ward to the surface is a bit further in the game.
In the image, you may see four farm plots. You’ll unlock the next two farm plots through an Incantation for which you need Garlic.
After planting the Garlic Cloves,you have to wait until they grow. They should be done after finishingone long runor a couple of short runs.
You can alsoget Garlic from planting and growing Mysterious Seeds. These Mysterious Seeds give you a random resource, so it isn’t a reliable source of Garlic.
