A playtester forHollow Knight: Silksonghas reassured fans that the game isn’t in “dev hell”, although they also admit that Team Cherry needs to improve its communication.
Well, another prolific gaming news season has come and gone and, as we all feared might happen,Hollow Knight: Silksong was a no-show throughout it all. Although developer Team Cherry never promised that Silksong would be at any events this year, the fact that it didn’t make a brief appearance at even one of them has fans worried about the state of the game, especially since Xbox said it would launch a year ago.
The lack of Silksong news has become a bit of an in-joke within the Hollow Knight community, but there are also a fair number of players who think Team Cherry’s silence spells disaster for the game. If that’s you, then worry not, as a known playtester for Silksong has reassured fans that it’s definitely not in “dev hell”.
Hollow Knight Silksong Isn’t In Dev Hell, Says Playtester
As reported by GamesRadar+, known Hollow Knight: Silksong playtester Graig recently popped up on Discord to say that they “literally know they are not in dev hell”. Graig is known for being a bit of a troll poster when it comes to Silksong, something the community is well aware of, but they claim in a later post that their comment is serious this time.
“Every software dev cycle ever. Sets internal dates, misses them all the time. Literally a normal part of software dev. You just don’t hear about them because they don’t announce them to the public. Again completely normal for every dev cycle.”
Considering Graig’s reputation for troll posts and the overall tired state of the Hollow Knight community at this point, his comments weren’t taken very seriously over on the game’s subreddit page. This caused Graig to resurface on Discord yesterday to lament the reactions to his comment, saying, “Be me, say something that’s true and something I thought would help people feel better. Get abused on r/silksong for it”.
Along with calling out the community for their reaction to his comment, Graig admitted that he sympathises with them for the long wait and has admitted in the past that Team Cherry needs to communicate better. Even if that’s the case, Graig says that it’s “disheartening” to see how Hollow Knight fans are reacting to the lack of news.
