Summary
Another day, another story about fans clawing atHollow Knight: Silksonglike a mirage in the desert. Nintendo announced a new trial for the first game that lasts until June 12, so naturally, fans think we’ll get an announcement shortly after, with this brief demo whetting our appetite while also ropingnewcomers into this neverending cyclewith us.
“Hmmm 🤔,“one fan replied. “Until June 12. Just in time for a shadow drop after the upcoming Direct 🤡.”

It’s hard to make fun of Silksong fans when we’ve prepared articles for most Directs as well, only for them to gather dust in our CMS.
“Free trial for Hollow Knight because Silksong is dropping this month, right?“another said.
“Is this… a sign?“one fan wrote, scrawling their message onto Twitter like a desperate Dark Souls player who has been beaten down by the same boss for days on end.
Don’t Worry, Silksong Will Be Here By The Year 9998 At Least
We still don’t know when Silksong will launch, but it recently got anXbox store pageand a rating in South Korea, which are usually healthy signs that a game is about to be released.
2024 seems likely, and with a demo allowing people to play the original ahead of the next Nintendo Direct, the stars are aligning for a re-reveal. And hopefully a concrete release date.
But that Xbox store pagedoeshave a year listed -9998. Sure, that’s over 7,000 years away, but that at least means our descendants will get to try it out, eh?
It’s obviously a placeholder, one that gives developer Team Cherry a nice window of several millennia, but all of the other updates seem to hint at us getting our hands on it much, much sooner than that.
