Summary

With the wide roster of playable characters inGenshin Impact, each one is designed with a specific playstyle that makes them unique from one another. Some specialize in wiping out mobs of enemies, while others shine more against single targets, especially bosses.

Single-Target DPS characters may sometimes struggle when faced with multiple enemies, as their Single-Target nature may restrict them from focusing on one enemy at a time. On the other hand, they’re able to easily melt through tough boss enemies, cheesing through their million-HP thresholds.

10Kamisato Ayaka

Ayaka has been one of the best DPS characters in the game for a long time, thanks to her hard-hitting and multi-hit Elemental Burst. Her placement in this list might seem a little questionable at first, consideringshe wants to be played in Freeze teams, and bosses can’t be frozen.

However, with just a few tweaks to her build, she’s still one of the fastest-clearing characters, even against bosses that she can’t freeze. Even without the Freeze reaction, she’s able to shred huge and stationary enemies that won’t move away from her Elemental Burst, such as the Primordial Geovishap and Perpetual Mechanical Array.

9Yae Miko/Fischl

When it comes to focusing on a single enemy, turret Skills are great for outputting tons of Single-Target DMG. Despite having their own unique characteristics, both of them excel at punishing bosses with their deployable Skills that last a long time on the field while your on-field DPS does their thing.

Fischl’s Single-Target DMG skyrockets if you may consistently trigger Elemental Reactions, which triggers her Passive’s follow-up attack. Meanwhile, you can take advantage of Yae Miko’s random targeting by letting her turrets focus on a single enemy, dealing consecutive strikes of lightning from above without worrying about them targeting a non-priority enemy.

8Yelan/Xingqiu

For the most part, Yelan and Xingqiu are played similarly, as they’re not only able to output heavy Single-Target DMG, but they’re also the best Hydro applicators for a lot of characters, thanks to their consistent and seamless Hydro application. With these similarities, it’s no wonder they’re also played together in most teams, such as with Hu Tao or Hyperbloom.

Aside from their DMG and application, they also contribute other forms of utility individually. Yelan can provide a whopping 50 percent DMG Bonus to the active character, while Xingqiu provides much-needed resistance to interruption, DMG reduction, and even some healing.

7Raiden Shogun/Wriothesley

Although these two are completely different in terms of elements and weapons, their playstyles are surprisingly similar. BothRaiden ShogunandWriothesleymake use of quick melee strikes that are more comfortable against single targets despite having some AoE.

Some of their teams also make use of the same support characters, especially the infamousXingqiu, Bennett, and Xiangling trio, otherwise known in the community as the National Team. As both rely on performing Normal Attacks, they’re the perfect drivers to trigger other characters’ off-field abilities.

6Navia

Navia’sgameplay perfectly captures the feeling of using a shotgun in FPS games, shooting a load of bullets right in front of your enemy’s face, and dealing huge DMG. Her Elemental Skill is one of the easiest ways to reach a hundred thousand DMG, even without buffs, which is great for melting bosses’ HP.

Since Navia needs to land all hits from her gunbrella, she’s much more comfortable against single enemies rather than mobs that are spaced apart, especially when she isn’t typically played with Anemo characters for grouping. Pair her gunshots with a few Normal Attacks to make quick work of tanky bosses.

5Tighnari

Tighnariis heralded asone of the best boss killers in the game. His instant and easy-to-fire Charged Attacks automatically track down enemies, and against bosses, his barrage of vine arrows won’t let them stand a chance.

He’s also one of the best characters to use against enemies with annoying invulnerability mechanics, such as the Golden Wolflord, Setekh Wenut, Ruin Serpent, and the All-Devouring Narwhal Weekly Boss. His rapid and quickswap playstyle allows you to output all his DMG in a split second against these bosses who can easily waste other characters’ Elemental Skill or Burst duration.

4Wanderer/Yoimiya

Another pair of characters who seem different at first glance,WandererandYoimiya, focus on keeping their distance to deal DMG with their long-ranged attacks. These attacks actively seek enemies, which allow you to chase and attack mobile bosses that can’t seem to stay in one place, such as the Thundering Manifestation, without expending too much Stamina.

While Wanderer’s Normal Attacks have increased AoE during his Elemental Skill, his fast ATK SPD allows you to quickly chip away bosses’ HP. Meanwhile, Yoimiya’s Normal Attacks are known for hitting like a truck, especially with Amplifying Reactions, making her another great boss killer.

3Neuvillette

Neuvillettehas solidified his spot as one of the strongest characters in the entire game. With his high DMG multipliers and DMG Bonus, he’s an easy cheat code to clear both Single-Target and AoE scenarios.

Using his powerful Charged Attack lets him fire continuous bursts of Hydro at the enemy, easily reaching a hundred thousand overall DMG without any Amplifying Reactions. The absolute raw power from his kit makes it so that the only bosses you’ll ever have to worry about are those that are immune to Hydro.

2Kuki Shinobu (Hyperbloom)

The Dendro reaction Hyperbloominvolves hitting Dendro Cores, which are created by the Hydro and Dendro reaction Bloom, with an Electro attack. This causes the Dendro Cores to turn into Sprawling Shots that track down the enemy, dealing consistent Single-Target DMG.

Using Alhaitham or Nahida as a driver for Hyperbloom allows you to double your DMG as their personal DMG output complements that of Hyperbloom.

This reaction has been a great addition to the game, as it allows anybody to deal high amounts of DMG without worrying about CRIT or ATK, making it extremely F2P-friendly.Kuki Shinobu, and, in some instances, Raiden Shogun, are the best characters to take advantage of this with their consistent AoE Electro application, which can constantly hit surrounding Dendro Cores.

1Hu Tao

When it comes to Single-Target DMG, Hu Tao is known as one of the strongest Single-Target DPS characters for a reason. Her high-damaing Charged Attacks paired with Amplifying Reactions, such as Vaporize, allow her to output ridiculous amounts of Single-Target DMG.

You don’t even need perfect artifacts to reach her highest DMG potential. All you need to do is pair her withXingqiu(and a shielder if you need the added layer of protection) and watch as she evaporates every high-HP boss that comes her way.
