The world ofGenshin Impacthas tons of content for you and other Travelers to explore. During your adventures, you can stumble upon countless challenges, such as formidable bosses, push-over slimes and hilichurls, or annoying enemies that decide to spawn in groups or mobs.

Wherever you go in Teyvat, you’ll almost always come across multiple enemies, especially if you like challenging the Spiral Abyss. This will require you to use characters better suited for multi-target DMG with their wide attack ranges and large area of effect (AoE).

10Venti

Back in the day, Venti used to be the most coveted limited character thanks to his oppressive Elemental Burst, which gathers all lightweight enemies in the middle of his wind vortex, allowing you to attack them in a single place. This makes him one of the best characters to use against mobs of enemies.

Making his vortex come into contact with Pyro, Electro, Cryo, or Hydro significantly increases his DMG output, as this lets him deal both Swirl DMG and infused Elemental DMG.

Additionally, building Venti with Elemental Mastery can increase his DMG even more, as this increases his Swirl DMG.

His crowd control is extremely useful no matter what Adventure Rank or World Level you’re in, especially in the Spiral Abyss, where enemies mostly spawn far away from each other. Other characters withgood crowd controlling abilitiesare Kazuha and Sucrose.

9Tartaglia

Tataglia might long be overshadowed by new DPS characters, but one thing that makes him a cut above the rest: his superior Hydro application. When Tartaglia attacks enemies, he applies Riptide to each of them, and each Riptide will deal AoE Hydro DMG to all surrounding enemies.

This mechanic not only increases his DMG the more enemies there are, but it also makes him the unrivaled best Hydro applicator in multi-target scenarios. With his Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, Elemental Skill, Elemental Burst (both melee and ranged), and Riptide having different rates of application, Tartaglia is great for enabling Hydro-related Elemental Reactions.

8Ganyu/Kamisato Ayato

It’s obvious that Ganyu and Ayato have different elements, weapons, and even playstyles, but their similar Elemental Bursts are what make them share an entry in this list. Both can summon a shower of icicles or rain shards in a circular area respectively, which continuously deals DMG and applies their respective element to all enemies inside.

Like Venti, their Bursts also work off-field and don’t require you to do anything, which makes little room for mistakes or skill issues. Additionally, other parts of their kit are also great for dealing with multiple targets, like Ganyu’s Frostflake Arrow and Ayato’s Shunsuiken slashes.

7Lyney

Lyneyis up there asone of the best Pyro DPS charactersin the game, along withHu Taoand Xiangling. He’s also one of the few characters whose DMG is evenly distributed among his Charged Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst.

verify Lyney has maximum Surplus Stacks to significantly increase the DMG of his Elemental Skill.

Despite his Charged Attack being Single-Target, his Elemental Burst and Skill can deal explosive DMG to all enemies. His Skill is especially effective at wiping out entire mobs if he has enough stacks, reaching Vaporize/Melt-level numbers without the need for Elemental Reactions.

6Keqing/Alhaitham

KeqingandAlhaithamare another pair of characters in this list. This time, they do share a lot of similarities with each other. Aside from them both being sword users, they’re also very similar in terms of playstyles, with both having teleportation Skills and Elemental Bursts that swiftly DMG all enemies in a circular area.

Keqing, with her bigger Burst radius, is extremely potent for taking down mobs in one go, especially with Dendro Reactions that significantly increase her DMG. Meanwhile, Alhaitham also utilizes Mirror Projectiles that rain down and attack all enemies in front of him.

5Xiao

Once regarded as one of the top DPS in the game, Xiao is still a force to be reckoned with, especially when it comes to multi-target content, thanks to his Plunging Attacks. Unlike Normal and Charged Attacks, which typically only let you attack enemies in front of you, Plunging Attacks damage all enemies caught within the plunge radius, giving you more AoE.

With Xiao, his Elemental Burst gives his Plunging Attacks a significantly larger radius, allowing you to go berserk with Plunging Attacks and hit enemies regardless of their positioning. This makes him one of the best characters to use in multi-target domains and events.

4Kamisato Ayaka

Ayaka is no stranger when it comes to dealing a lot of DMG to multiple enemies, especially since she shines the most in Freeze teams, which are most effective against mobs. Her lethal Elemental Burst summons a Bladestorm that slashes all enemies caught inside it.

Ayaka is best played with crowd control characters in order to effectively group them together for her Elemental Burst and Freeze reactions.

What’s also special about her is that she has a special Charged Attack that’s unique from other sword characters. Performing Ayaka’s Charged Attack lets you deal multiple slashes to enemies without needing her sword to come into contact with them, as if slicing the air, even if they aren’t close to each other.

3Xiangling

The undisputed strongest four-star DPS who can rival even five-star characters, Xiangling has long been known for her superior AoE DMG and Pyro application. Using her Elemental Burst summons a Pyronado that circles around your active character, hitting all enemies in its path.

By virtue of being Pyro, Xiangling can have access to strong Amplifying Reactions, such as Melt and Vaporize, which can double the already high AoE DMG that she deals. Additionally, her outstanding Pyro application lets her enable other reactions as well, such as reverse Melt for Cryo DPS characters, as well as Overloaded and Burgeon.

2Neuvillette

Neuvilletteis one of those characters who feel like you’re cheating the game every time you use him.His raw DMG outputand amazing AoE allows you to clear any content in the game, be it AoE or even Single-Target.

His unique Charged Attack lets him fire a powerful blast of water to all enemies in its path, which you’re able to manually direct and aim towards enemies. This, on top of his amazingly high multipliers, lets you wipe out almost any set of enemies that come your way.

1Nilou

Nilouis a unique support character, in the sense that she can completely change how a certain Elemental Reaction behaves. While her Elemental Skill is active, all Dendro Cores created by the Dendro and Hydro reaction, Bloom, will turn into Bountiful Cores that have the following properties:

As long as your team is only composed of Hydro and Dendro characters, Nilou’s Bountiful Cores can eliminate all enemies around you, thanks to their increased radius. Due to the nature of Bloom teams, it doesn’t even matter what you do or what your rotation is. Just press buttons and watch as every enemy around you falls.
