Summary
You’d think that with the sheer amount of space there is inHelldivers 2, it would be extremely difficult for two Super Destroyers to collide with each other. Sure, you may see a bunch of ships floating around each other before you drop onto a planet, but you’d have thought that the brave pilots of Super Earth would be well-trained enough to avoid bumping into each other, but apparently not.
Over on the Helldivers 2 subreddit, a player shares the moment in which their ship is headed directly towards another player’s, capturing exactly what happens when two Super Destroyers come into contact with each other. Unfortunately, if you’re expecting massive explosions and two very embarrassed pilots who need their licenses revoked, you’re going to be disappointed.
In the video you may find embedded above, you can see the player’s ship slowly drift towards another before they make contact. Instead of scraping up alongside each other as you’d expect, they literally just pass right through each other as if the other wasn’t there. The player simply stands still, making their way through metal walls and one of the ship’s massive engines before coming out the other side completely unscathed.
If that wasn’t disturbing enough, you don’t even get to see the crew of the ship you merged into either. The interior of the other ship is completely hollow, which is understandable given that developer Arrowhead probably didn’t ever envisage players somehow managing to bash their ships together mid-orbit. Either that, or this is a mysterious ghost ship, and if that’s the case, it must be destroyed in the name of democracy.
In other Helldivers 2 news, Arrowhead can’t start worrying about players flying ships into each other, as it’s got its hands full working on various improvements to the game to keep it running smoothly. One of the biggest issues facing Helldivers 2 at the moment is its unreliable rewards distribution system, which is giving out medals for completing Major Orders a lot more slowly than intended.
Arrowhead is aware of the situation though, and is planning to doa complete “overhaul” of the systemat some point in the future, making the delivery system a lot more reliable and get those brave soldiers out there the rewards that their hard work deserves.
Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 is the sequel to the third-person shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios. This time out, the Helldivers are deep in the Galactic War, and it’s up to you to bring Managed Democracy to the masses.
