Leaker AsunderKnight uncovered a bunch of new Illuminate models in the Helldivers 2 files yesterday, revealingeven moreSqui’ith models, unknown crystals of Illuminate origin, outposts, staff weaponry, and a mysterious teleporter.
It’s unclear how the teleporter will work in-game, but it’s likely a spawn point of some kind for the Illuminate, kind of like how we crash land in rocket pods, only a smidge more elegant.
When Will The Illuminate Join Helldivers 2?
Arrowhead hasn’t said when the Illuminate will arrive, and as far as Super Earth is concerned, they were completely wiped out. Obviously, that’s just propaganda, but even mentioning the possibility of their survival is treason, so it won’t be until they’re at our doorstep that they’re confirmed to be back, throwing another spanner into the Second Galactic War.
Going outside of the game, more and more Illuminate files are being datamined, so it’s clear that Arrowhead is ramping up development on this returning faction. We’ll probably see them join the fray soon, especially withthe Second Galactic War supposedly making the first look like another cobbled-together training course.
Some fans even believe thatthe black hole which engulfed Meridiawill tie into the Illuminate’s introduction. One theory suggests that we opened a wormhole that will allow the Squi’ith to re-enter the galaxy, while another posits that Super Earth getting its hands on such devastating technology will force the Illuminate to step in, going from mere observers to active participants. Either way, it looks like the Illuminate’s arrival is imminent.
