Summary
Ninja Theory’s next game has reportedly been greenlit already, and it’s not thepreviously confirmed Project Mara. According to sources, Ninja Theory is already looking beyondSenua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, and isn’t at risk of closure as we saw recently with otherXboxstudios.
This is according toWindows Central, who report that the Hellblade studio has at least two games in the works. It comes amidstfears that Ninja Theory could be at risk of closureregardless of Hellblade 2’s performance, as Xbox recently announced plans toshutter four of its studios, including Hi-Fi Rush developer Tango Gameworks.

Hellblade 2 Developer Not At Risk Of Closure, Say Sources
Windows Central writes that there are “no plans whatsoever to close the studio any time soon”, in response to the latest wave of speculation that Ninja Theory is at risk. If true, it means that Ninja Theory won’t join the Xbox studios recently announced for closure: Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Games, and Roundhouse Games.
Shortly after this announcement, fans feared that other Xbox studios would be closed too. However, the latest round of speculation that Ninja Theory is at risk is in response to its latest social media post.
“Making video games is difficult,” the message reads. “Much like Senua, we as a team have been guided by a conviction to achieve our quest: To make a game that sinks you deep into Senua’s world and to take you on a journey that leaves you thinking and feeling.
“I believe we have achieved our quest and I hope you’ll agree. I’m very proud of the game, very proud of our team and very proud of you, our fans, who have supported us on this magical journey.”
Project Mara will likely be Ninja Theory’s next game, as this was announcedall the way back in 2020.
Some felt that the statement’s tone was odd, and perhaps even a cause for concern. Admittedly, big blocks of text on an image are often associated with bad news in the gaming industry. However, if the sources are to be believed, all is well behind the scenes, and this is just marking the occasion of Hellblade 2’s launch tomorrow.
Hellblade 2 will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will also be available to play via Xbox Game Pass. There are rumours of it getting a PS5 portlike other Xbox console exclusives, but this hasn’t been officially confirmed.
