Summary

2024 has already seen previously exclusiveXboxtitles make their way toPlayStation, including the likes ofHi-Fi RushandSea of Thieves, among others. And while it’s unclear when or if a next group of titles will jump ship, it’s possible that a major Xbox title’s next iteration could simultaneously release on PlayStation. That title isHalo.

According toTom Warren of The Verge, Microsoft is currently working on developing a remaster ofBungie’s original Halo title, Halo: Combat Evolved. A remaster of the title is still in early stages of work, though Microsoft is reportedly already pondering whether to release iton Sony’s flagship console,.

Since then, it’s developed into a flagship franchise for Microsoft, spawning sequels, books,a television showand myriad other products in the time since.Halo: Infiniteis the most recent title to release, having come out in 2021.

In 2011,a remake commemorating the game’s anniversary was released. Titled Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, it brought the seminal shooter into the modern age, complete with achievements, online multiplayer functionality and updated graphics. That remake was then later included in the compilation title,Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which was released onXbox One.

Whether the game does eventually come to the PlayStation is still up in the air, but a remake of the title is certainly warranted.
