It was expected that an announcement aboutPlayStation’s Days of Play event was coming, especially afterrumors its 25 percent off PS Plus offer would be returningin 2024, andPlayStation has now confirmed that will be the case. You don’t have much time to prepare though as Days of Play will begin, again as expected, on May 29. None of the big deals PlayStation has up its sleeve have been revealed, but a slew of specialPS Plusadditions will begin on Wednesday that includesPS2titles as well as the service’s first free PS VR2 games.
While there are PS2 games available in PS Plus Premium’s Classic Catalog, the best-selling console of all time’s library has been somewhat overlooked in favor of, let’s be honest, mostly fairly obscurePS1andPSPgames. Here’s hoping this Days of Play announcement marks the beginning of Premium’s PS2 era. Three pretty significant PS2 games will be added to the Classics Catalog on June 11 - Tomb Raider Legend, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and best of all, Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus.
Moving onto the PS VR2 and PlayStation really needs to start acting like it actually wants people to buy and use its high-tech headset. Perhaps giving away games for free will entice more people to buy a PS VR2, and from June 6 there will indeed be games you can play for free on the VR platform. I say free, they will be included in the Premium tier of PS Plus. Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, Walkabout Mini Golf, and The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapters 1 & 2 are three of the five games coming to Premium’s debuting PS VR2 library.
Everything Coming To PS Plus For Days Of Play
San Andreas won’t be added to Extra until June 7, but Dredge is the game chosen to kick off the Days of Play festivities and will be added to PS Plus on May 29. There will be a lot more than just PS Plus additions coming your way during 2024’s Days of Play. Even though PlayStation hasn’t detailed exactly what its offers will be yet, it notes in the blog post detailing the Plus news that there are offers on hardware and games in the offing, and that Days of Play will be a two-week event that runs through June 12.
