Summary
One Piecehas been a big deal for a long time, its manga now more than 1,000 chapters long. However, in 2023 Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates welcomed more fans than ever on their quest to find the One Piece thanks toNetflix’s live-action adaptation of their story. That has prompted more One Piece merch fromFunkoover the past six months than ever before, and the latest additions to its range are brand new backpacks, one of which has a wallet to match.
The backpacks and wallet were revealed this week, and you may already buy them, boththrough the official Funko siteand on Amazon. The backpack that can be bought with a matching wallet is the Straw Hat Crew option. The repeating pattern covers the backpack in Funkofied versions of the anime’s lead characters including Luffy, Nami, Chopper, and Zoro. The backpack is $40, and if you want the wallet to match, or if you want to buy it separately without the backpack, the additional accessory is $20.

Joining Funko’s new One Piece products is another backpack, also priced at $40 and available now. No repeating pattern on this one, but it is a very similar shade of blue to the Straw Hat Crew option. The One Piece Luffy backpack is one of Funko’s mini options. The top half of the backpack has a big Funko Pop-style Luffy standing on the bow of The Thousand Sunny, curiously without his iconic straw hat. The bottom half of the bag’s design does have a straw hat though as it is adorned with the skull and crossbones you’ll find on the Straw Hat Crew’s Jolly Roger.

Funko Pop! One Piece Luffy Mini Backpack
Funko’s One Piece mini backpack features a Funko Pop! version of Luffy standing on the bow of his ship, the straw hat pirates logo you’ll see throughout the show printed on the front of the backpack’s pocket.
Everything above is officially licensed One Piece merch, but despite the similarities, they are not Loungefly products. Loungefly is an arm of the wider Funko brand though, so you can rest assured they are still high quality. These One Piece picks differ from Loungefly products as they don’t appear to be quite as expensive, and they also feature Funko versions of the characters from One Piece rather than the original character designs. Loungefly products tend to stick with the OG designs, hence these new backpacks falling under the Funko banner instead.
If you’d prefer backpacks and wallets with the actual characters on rather than their Funko Pop! counterparts,Loungefly revealed a 25th anniversary One Piece collectionin March to celebrate the anime’s birthday. For Funko-loving One Piece fans who want figures to go with their new backpacks, new Pops are being released thick and fast, and you cankeep track of the very best ones using our handy guide.
