Can You Jump Higher Than The B. Wand Allows?

When you first obtainthe B. Wand upgradefrom the Seahorse’s biome in the southwesternquadrant of the mapin Animal Well, you’ll be able to use it to help your blob reach brand-new heights byblowing a bubble as a makeshift platform.

The B. Wand has plenty of uses, like reaching higher platforms or allowing for a morecontrolled descentif you don’t want to leap blindly into openings in the floor.

There are two waysyou can jump higher, though:

The infinite bubble jump trick takes some practice, but it’s a useful skill to learn!

Can You See Hidden Eggs On The Map?

You can’t see the chestscontaining the 64 hidden eggs in Animal Well on the map as it is, but there are plenty of ways to find them. We’ve got a full guide tothe egg locations in the game, but you can also find eggs yourself in a number of ways.

The easiest way to find hidden eggs in Animal Well is tolook on your map for openings in the walls of rooms you’ve visited already. You can return there at any time to re-analyze the situation, and you’ll often find thatbacktracking to older rooms after receiving new inventory upgradescan help.

This is because there areplenty of areas you can’t reach in each roomno matter when you visit - this is by the design of thenon-linear storytelling, which permits you toexplore the map at any pace and in any direction. As such, going back to rooms you’ve “solved” may reveal new secrets you couldn’t find before with only the tools you had at the time.

For example, there are plenty of areas on your overworld map of the well wherea piece of the wall in the room is missing on the map. These places are oftenobscured by vines, spikes, or other obstaclesthat have previously prevented you from exploring this room fully until you received tools to bypass them.

Additionally, once you push into the second layer of the game and get your hands onthe Remote upgrade, you’ll have more power in your palms than just being able to turn platforms on and off. The Remote can not onlydetonate hidden TNTthat you can’t sense in the room, and it can alsohighlight the outline of treasure chests hidden in your current room.

If you’re feeling stuck, be sure touse the Remote in rooms you think you’ve finished exploringto double-check before moving on.

Is There Fast Travel?

There is fast travel in Animal Well, but it’s not an upgrade you unlock like the other tools -the Disc, the Yoyo, and so on. The item you need is calledthe Animal Flute, and you’re able to’t access the area where it’s hidden until you’vecollected eight hidden eggsfrom around the map.

Head back to the egg roomand venture down this newly opened path, and you’ll find several Chinchillas and a chest containing the Animal Flute.Play the flute to wake the Chinchillas, and you’ll receive your introduction to using the Flute to control the animals in the game.

Jump to the top-right cornerof the room with the Chinchillas, and you’ll find analtar near a raven’s headin the wall. You may have noticed them in various areas around the well, but if youplay the Animal Flute standing near the gray altar in a room with an animal head, you’ll see that the animal opens its mouth for you.

The Room With The Heads Is Your Fast Travel Hub

Step into the raven’s mouth, and you’ll find yourself in a room withseveral animal heads- six, to be exact. Jump over to theplatform in the middle, where you canplay the Flute againto awaken the animal heads on the wall, the same way you did the raven.

Only the heads you’ve already seen in the overworld will open when you play the Flute here. If you haven’t seen an animal’s head anywhere on the map, keep exploring - you’ll find another gray altar near it, so play your Flute when you find it to unlock the fast travel point.

Additionally, there are severalspecificsongs to playon your Animal Flutethat can automatically teleport you around the map. These are patterns of notes that arewell-hidden in the game’s overworldthat take some serious deducing to work out!

The fish at the bottom of the ladder in the room with the animal heads shows you how to play the song that warps you back to the room with the heads to get you started:right, right, left, left, down, down, up, up.

Where Did The Kangaroo Go?

After you’ve solvedthe first Ostrich puzzleand obtained the Yoyo upgrade in the southeast quadrant of the map (as creepy as that thing was), you’ll almost immediately meet a curious new animal - aKangaroo, who stands idle in the room and begins tojump to attack youonce you get near. If you don’t know what to do at the moment, it’s best to run back a room to gather your thoughts.

Thankfully, like plenty of the critters you’ve encountered in the well so far,the Kangaroo is afraid of Firecrackers. If you toss one, the resulting sound and colorchases the Kangaroo off, but you’ll notice that itleaves behind a small pouch.

These areK. Shards, and they’re your ticket to a puzzle off the room where you encountered the Bat that rewards you with the Bouncy Ball item.

After you chase the Kangaroo away, you’ll thensporadically encounter it in a few other roomsaround the map - but not before you meet it first. Once you’ve scared the Kangaroo out of the room in the indigo biome, it willspawn in five roomsthroughout the map, so check out our guide for a heads-up on where to encounter it.

The Kangaroo willonly spawn in the rooms mentionedin the guide linked above, so though there are plenty of critters to worry about all around the map, the Kangaroo isn’t one of them outside those rooms.

Do Animals Respawn After You Solve Their Puzzles?

This is a tricky question, since the answer changes depending on the animal. Not every animal disappears after you solve their respective puzzle, keeping a lingering sense of danger in every second you play of Animal Well.

Not knowing exactly who respawns and where is just one of the many tricks Animal Well uses to keep you on your toes the whole way through. It’s critical to enjoying the second layer of the game.

Exploring after you’ve defeated a boss animal, though, is key to finding some pretty important items that help unlock elements of hidden puzzles or additional areas of the map that you may not have been able to access before.

How Do You Light The Candles?

In Animal Well, you’ll come acrossnine total candlesscattered across the map. Before you light them, unlit candles spawn spiritsthat chase you throughout the room and one-hit kill you if they catch up.

Your introduction to the concept comes in the initial area, as you work to climb up into the central part of the well. In theroom to the left of where you spawnedfrom your yellow bud to start the game is aglass wall with nine candles, and this can help you counthow many candles you’ve lit so far.

However, fire doesn’t justhappen- Animal Well isn’t that kind of game. To light the candles, you’ll need tofind one match for every candle. Since there are nine candles in Animal Well, this means you’ll need to findnine matchesin order to light each of them.

We’ve got a fuller guidecontaining the locations of all nine candles and all nine matches, so feel free to check it out if you’re stuck.

And because solving one puzzle in Animal Well opens the door for the next several, light all nine candles to unlock a new puzzleback in the space where you started.

How Do You Solve The Giant Bunny Mural?

If you venture a couple of screens to the right of the main area with the four animal beacons from when you first emerged from the starting area, you can’t miss thelarge pink and blue rabbit muralon the wall as you proceed into the northeast biome, outlined in green on the map. This is just one of the16 hidden rabbitsin Animal Well, but this one is unique in thatyou willliterallynever be able to solve it by yourself.

That’s because the bunny mural in Animal Well wasdesigned to purposefully be a community effort, and in the earliest days of the game’s launch, players took to a communalDiscord group to assemble the complete answer. It wasn’t long before they realized thatthe bunny mural is a 50-piece puzzle, andevery player only has one pieceof their own, and developer Billy Basso even contributed his own game’s piece once they figured this secret out.

Your piece of the puzzle is pretty far into the game, though. In order to access thecontrol panel that changes the images on the bunny mural, you’ll need to firstcollect 32 eggsfrom around the map so you can head back to the egg room and obtainthe Top, which is capable ofdestroying certain kinds of flooraround the map.

Once you have the Top, you’ll also needthe Remote, which requires obtaining the S. Medal and solving the puzzles in a newly unlocked area. The Remote is normally used to toggle platforms on and off, but it’s pertinent to the mural, too.

With both tools in hand, go back to the bunny mural anduse the Remote in the roomto reveal a control panel. Once you’re in here, use the Top in this roomto reveal a second hidden area where you can find your piece.
