Summary

Fortnite’s yearlyStar Warsupdate is here and it brings with it a new Wookie Bowcaster weapon, Lightsabers in Lego Fortnite, and a Yoda Backbling, but the real highlight is the return of the Olympic Mythics.

Tomorrow is May 4 and, as any good nerd knows, that means that it’s Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you all). In recent years, one of the best places to celebrate Star Wars Day has been Fortnite, which collaborates with Disney to add a bunch of skins, weapons, and events to the game for the occasion.

It may not be May 4 until tomorrow, but it seems that Epic wanted to get ahead of the curve, as it’s already updated the in-game shop and map to include all of the new event items and purchasable gear in the Item Shop. There’s a lot to work through, so let’s activate our Hyperdrive and get moving.

All Of The Star Wars Content Added In Fortnite’s Latest Update

Let’s start off with a very fun one - the Yoda Backbling. As reported by reliable Fortnite insider HYPEX, a new Backbling has been added that allows you to have Master Yoda on your back to help you with your Jedi training or a disassembled version of C-3PO.It pairs well with the new Dagobah Luke Skywalker skinthat was just added to the game, but there’s also the Lando Calrissian skin if you want to mix things up.

A new mini Battle Pass has also been added to Lego Fortnite, which comes with a bunch of Star Wars-themed items and a skin for Chewbacca that includes a non-Lego variant. Lightsabers have also been added to Lego Fortnite now, so there’s a bunch of new Star Wars goodness to enjoy in the mode. Shame we’ve still not got Lightsaber Pickaxes for the Battle Royale mode, though.

If you’re not looking to spend any money on Fortnite, then don’t worry as three Star Wars-themed weapons have been added to the game. The first two are classics that will be familiar to most players - Darth Vader’s Lightsaber and the E-11 Blasters wielded by Stormtroopers. There’s also a brand-new one, though, in the form of Chewbacca’s Wookie Bowcaster.

Star Wars Isn’t The Only Thing Great About The Update

I love Star Wars as much as the next guy who owns a Cal Kestis Lightsaber, but even I know that all this stuff from a galaxy far, far away isn’t the highlight of the update. That honour goes to the Olympic Mythics, which were vaulted just a few weeks agoto make room for all of the Avatar: Elements bending weapons and,as reported by HYPEX, have all been unvaulted in the latest update.

That means that the Wings of Icarus, Chains of Hades, and Thunderbolt of Zeus are all back in the game, seemingly for the rest of the season. It was a big shock to see all three disappear like that, especially with how popular the Wings of Icarus were, so it’s great to see them back in action for at least a few more weeks.

That does sadly mean that the Avatar: Elements Mythics have been put back into the vault, so I hope you weren’t enjoying Airbending too much as it’s gone for the foreseeable future.
