Summary

It seems like every time a newFortnitecrossover is announced these days, you’ll find a gaggle of angry fans complaining about its pricing not too far behind. Last month, it was the price ofFortnite’s avatar collaboration skinsthat got fans fired up, and now they’ve taken aim at the game’s upcoming collaboration with Star Wars, once again due to the pricing.

Starting on May 3 (I know, it’s weird), variousStar Wars-relateditems and bundles will be made available across all of Fortnite’s game modes, includingLego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival, and the Battle Royale mode itself. Arguably, the biggest addition in this crossover is the Chewbacca skin, which is included in the Lego Fortnite Star Wars Pass and will set you back a pretty substantial 1,400 V-Bucks (roughly $12).

Unfortunately, the Lego Fortnite mode isn’t exactly everyone’s cup of tea, and the extra 400 V-Bucks Epic is charging in comparison to the previous Star Wars crossover Battle Pass is rubbing some people the wrong way. Fortnite fans have accused this extra charge of being a “Lego tax”, and thatthe pass has way less value than the previous one, despite costing more, as all the extra content is for a mode that no one is really interested in.

Fortnite’s Star Wars Crossover Could Set You Back Almost $100

Chewbacca will eventually get added to the Shop, meaning all people have to do is wait if they don’t want extra Lego Fortnite bits, but the pass is only one of the issues fans have at the moment. Complaints about the pricing of these Star Wars cosmetics are actually spread across every mode, as it wasrecently calculated that you’ll need roughly 12,000 V-Bucksif you want everything the crossover offers.

That’s roughly $96 worth of V-Bucks you’ll need to spend to grab every Star Wars item on offer, though you could obviously reduce that amount if you bought your V-Bucks in bulk. That’s still a lot of cash to drop for just one crossover event though, and doesn’t take into account Lego Star Wars Decor Bundles that range between 250-750 V-Bucks. With Epic asking for that much cash for one crossover event, you can see why people are getting upset.
