The latest round ofFortnitecharacter surveys have been shared and the crossovers hinted at are genuinely wild. Epic Games' live-service shooter has longbeen considered one of the biggest metaverses, and this month’s survey continues to support that.
Because Fortnite just kickstarted a new season (Chapter 5, Season 3), that means select players have received a new survey from Epic Games. The survey attempts to gauge players' interest in various crossovers and collaborations that may be in the works. It’s pretty much Fortnite tradition at this point.
Some of the characters and properties hinted at in this latest survey include Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad, Freddy Fazbear fromFive Nights at Freddy’s, and CJ fromGrand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Those three headline a list featuring several dozen characters, music artists, professional athletes and real-life celebrities that couldpotentiallymake their way into the game down the line.
Taking to Twitter,reliable Fortnite insider HYPEXshared a list of all the various properties that are included in the current survey. The full list, which ranges from ‘Huh’ to ‘Yes, please’, has been broken down into several categories. Check it out:
Jesse, We Need To Play Fortnite
One of the biggest properties teased in the survey is Breaking Bad.AMC’s award-winning dramahas long been considered one of the greatest television series of all time, though it’s never lent itself to the world of games. That may change as Jesse Pinkman is listed at the top of the character’s category. Oddly enough, Walter White isn’t listed, though if you’re hoping to play as him in a game,then he may be joining MultiVersus.
In another important development, Five Nights at Freddy’s continues to grace these surveys.In December’s survey, Chica was named,then March’s surveyalso referenced thepopular horror franchise. And now in May, there’s a namedrop of Freddy Fazbear. A collaboration between FNaF and Fortnite has long been rumored, so it makes sense that Epic Games is gauging people’s interest and awareness of the property.
It’s important to note that surveys like this are meant to purely gauge interest. It’s not a clear-cut list of what’s to come, though a lot of what is often referenced in these surveys does eventually come out. So, like any rumor, take these all with a pinch of salt.
Speaking of rumors, CJ from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is referenced in the survey.Back in March’s edition, Niko Bellic of Grand Theft Auto: IV fame and Vice City were specifically mentioned.San Andreas is arguably Rockstar’s most popular entry, so including CJin a potential crossoverseems like a no-brainer.
Some other noteworthy names in the survey are Suguru Geto and Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen. The hit anime already hasseveral characters in the fold, though its antagonists are noticeably absent. That could be rectified soon. Elsewhere, multipleNightmare Before Christmascharacters are named, as is Pedro Pascal,who currently stars as Joel in HBO’s The Last of Us adaption.
