Final Fantasy 14’s Dawntrail expansion is right around the corner, as the world of Etheirys is starting get a little busieras more and more people start to prepare. Yoshi-P has gradually been releasing new videos and trailers in live letters, so we know exactly what to expect when the expansion drops, including new features and quality of life changes. One of these features is getting a lot of attention though, and it’s something that should make your time getting through the expansion’s story a lot easier.

Revealed during the live letter, it looks like the release of Dawntrail will finally introduce the ability for players to hide other player characters when standing around story-related quest givers. While those of you that have only recently jumped into Final Fantasy 14 over the past year or so won’t have experienced this issue, it can be difficult to see and pick out an NPC drowning in an ocean of player characters when many people are trying to complete the main quest at the same time.

Final Fantasy 14 Will Finally Let You Hide Player Characters Around Quest Givers

As demonstrated in the tweet above, it appears there are a couple of stages to the feature, both of which give you a much easier time of seeing quest givers. To start, the player moves towards Alisaie, who is being swarmed by other players to the point where you can’t actually see her, before the players in her immediate vicinity all vanish.

The player then targets and talks to Alisaie, after which even more people around her vanish, leaving a large circular space around her, so you can see exactly what’s going on. It should make things a lot easier for those that are going to try and blast through the story as quickly as possible, knowing you won’t have to stumble over dozens of Lalafells and Miqo’te just to talk to Alphinaud.
