Summary
Spoilers for the Fallout show and Fallout: New Vegas ahead.
Robert Edwin House, better known simply as Mr. House, is going to return for the second season of theFalloutshow. This was just confirmed in an interview with the Fallout showrunners, as the next season goes all in on the fan-favourite entry,Fallout: New Vegas.

This comes after Mr. House madea brief appearance in the final episode of the Fallout show, albeit in his pre-war form. This gave us our first-ever look at Mr. House in his prime, as he looksverydifferent in New Vegas.
Mr. House Is Involved In Fallout Season 2
In an interview withVariety, showrunners Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet confirm that Mr. House will appear in the next season of Fallout (thanks,IGN). The report mentions that he “will return for more episodes”, but doesn’t go into any more detail than that.
It remains to be seen if Mr. House will appear as a flashback, or in the present day. Flashbacks seem more likely because him still being alive by the time the show takes place would force the writers to pick a canon ending for New Vegas, since Mr. House can be killed off by the player. However, the player can also side with him and help him take down the other factions, so there’s a lot of variance in what can happen to New Vegas and the characters after the events of the game.

There is a fan theory thatMr. House survived every possible New Vegas ending, which is something the show could use.
If the show continues to avoid contracting the games, it will become increasingly difficult to write around now that the TV show characters are in the areas. With that said, it wouldn’t be the first time the show has made a risky narrative decision, as it famouslygave us an answer to the question of who dropped the bombs in the Great War. Or, rather, it might have -it could have just been misdirection.
